Dust blown out of Rainbow SE Performance vacuum

I have a used Rainbow SE Performance vacuum and when I use it to vacuum my carpet, it blows out some dust when I push the button to vacuum. While holding on to the button the dust only comes out on the initial push of the button and when I pull back when vacuuming. I hope this makes since. I've already cleaned the brushes and it still does that. Please let me know what needs to be done to not have that happen. I was thinking that there might be a filter somewhere that needs to be changed. Let me know. Thanks.

Remove bottom plate cover on power nozzle and check for debris obstruction where it chambers into the hose. .... also check the wand and hose for obstructions. Sounds like the brush is stirring up dust, but suction is being prevented by a hair/fiber clog somewhere. . . therefore, it blows out instead of getting sucked up.

If you're using a unit where the belt tracks in the center of the brush roll, (PN2, etc.), check that the brush roll wasn't installed backwards. There's an indicator groove cut into the wood, near one end of the roller . . . that grooved end should be nearest to the spare belt pocket.

Nan,
There are no filters inside the SE Rainbow. Unfortunately, sometimes Rainbows get all dusty and dirty up inside the main unit and need to be cleaned internally. This service can cost anywhere from $50.00-$100.00, depending on your local vac shop prices.

Will D4c se plug into D4c

The Rainbow D4, D4C and SE all are the same vacuum base, only changes were made to the nozzle. As long as the nozzle cord on your D4 has 2 prongs, not 3 prongs you can use the D4 nozzle that looks like This or the SE PE (SE Performance) Nozzle that looks This

I have just installed travertine floors in my entire house. What's the best vacuume for my floors?

If you have mostly hard floors you can't go wrong with a Miele canister vacuum. They have many models out. I would suggest one with a 14" horse hair floor brush. they are german made and last for years. Don't buy a Dyson they are very harsh on hard floors and your carpet.

MY RAINBOW VACUUM HAS LOST SUCTION POWER AND i DON'T KNOW WHY

Your Rainbow E series has lost suction power, because you need a new hepa filter, ot your water basin gasket is messed up, or the center motor gasket is messed up or out of position.

Make sure your water basin is not cracked or broken, also.

If you have any more questions let me know. I am a Rainbow seller, and a Rainbow expert also.

Thank you,

I just purchased a rainbow D4C, after purchasing i was told i should have purchased the SE model. whats the difference?

There is only one difference between the D4 and the D4 SE, which stands for D4 (Special Edition). It is the exhaust plug screws in on an SE and snaps in on a regular D4.

Then the SE-PE came along, which stands for (Special Edition-Performance Edition) which has a more powerful motor, with larger motor brushes, for more power and runs on 9.8 amps, where the regular SE and D4 run on 8.8 amps. It also has the newer PN-2 power nozzle, which is very much like the latest E and E2 series Rainbow vacuums, instead of the earlier rectangular ones, that have the bottom metal plate, which will rust. You can upgrade your D4 to one of these, though you will need the electric hose with gas pump style handle, with the built in power corn in it.

They are all D4 models.

If you have any more questions let me know. I am a Rainbow seller, and a Rainbow expert also.

Thank you,
Ralph

Rainbow e series musty odor

The unit and the nozzle have to be taken apart and cleaned. You almost for sure will need a new HEPA and possibly even the motor cooling filter. There is a lot of dust inside that got moist (moisture in the air, vacuuming wet carpet, maybe you have pets or everything together)

It will require a bit more advanced skills but you do not have to be a vacuum repair professional to do this.

Could the debris from plaster sanding cause my rainbow series D4C vacuum not to work? If so how is the best way to clean it?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The Rainbow D4C will still work but not @ the highest efficiency rating – the suction will be reduced because the sheetrock dust gets into the motor and the fan blade(s) Quan 3 and would need a professional cleaning 1st or 2nd. Replacement of the motor; if it is too serious and or too expensive. It’s a good vacuum back it is suggested that people use a good Shop Vac for the sheetrock dust removal. Feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or you can try to repair and change out the fans, clean out the carbon brush area and cleanup the armature. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Dust blowing out of my vaccuum cleaner

Usually when dust is blowing out it is caused by a clog, either the hose, or the dirt inlet down by the brush roll is clogged. Check them and clean them out and you should be ok.
