Defective dvd player

The GoVideo DV2140 does not contain a DVD writer. It can only play DVDs and copy them to VHS tape.

A firmware upgrade is needed to make your GoVideo reads the dvds.

If you can post here the model number of your DVD/VCR, maybe we can help you find the last firmware update that the manufacturer released before they shutdown their business.

It could just be dirt on the lazer/lens. Try cleaning it with a good brand name lens cleaner for DVD/CD. If that doesn't do the trick there might be damage to the lens, or an electrical fault.

the eye might be scrached

depends what format your burnt files are......divx,vob,wmv,dvd ???

Hi - I can record a dvd from the tv and can play it back but when I try to play a store purchased dvd it ejects the dvd and on the tv screen it says unknown disk, please, check disk again.

are they burnt disks?

Did you try cleaning the eye i have had dvds that would not play because the eye was dirty

try to play videos from over seas Taiwan, but when I set the settings it will not play
