How do I program a 1987 rca tv, lost the remote for it

The code of a GE Universal remote for a RCA TV are 0031, 0004, 0048, 0054, 0094, 0100, 0102, 0107, 0129, 0191, 0005, 0009, 0000, 0162, 0163, 0342, 0003 ,0015, 0022, 0096, 0113, 0125, 0179, 0187, 0188. In case none of these works for your TV you can try these steps for you to program your remote conrol.

1. Manually turn on the TV.
2. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
3. Press and quickly release the desired TV button. The red indicator blinks off once.
4. Press the ON-OFF button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the TV to be controlled turns off. The red indicator blinks off with each button press.
5. Press and release ENTER to install the code.

These are the steps on how to program your RCA Universal Remote Control to your Symphonic TV.

1. Press and "HOLD" CODE SEARCH.
2. Press and release the TV button. When the TV button flashes proceed to the next step.

Find your TV and hold the TV button on the top left. While holding the TV button, enter in a 4 digit code (they should be in the 1000's) - then release the TV button and try the channels or volume up or down

Basically, try holding the TV button, the on/off button should light up. Then press the digits for the code one at a time. If the code is accepted, the on/off button should go off. Finally let go of the TV button. Now try operating your TV.

1) turn on unit

2) press and hold componet button on remote (TV, VCR, etc)
until On/Off lights up

3) press and hold On/Off while holding component button. Light will go out. Continue hoding both buttons until light comes back on.

4) release both buttons. On/Off should stay on.

5) Press On/Off repeatedly until unit turns off.

6) Press the Stop key at bottom.

7) light goes off. Remote is programmed!

I programmed an rca universal remote by:
TURN ONTHE TV
HOLDING DOWN THE TV ANDTHEON/OFF BUTTON ATTHE SAME TIME.UNTILTHEON/OFF BUTTON STAYED ILLUMINATED.
PRESS THE PLAYBUTTON IT WILL BLINK,IF TV DOES NOT GO OFF PRESS PLAY EVERY 5 SECONDS UNTIL TV GOES OFF.
ONCE TV TURNS OFF HIT THE REVERSE BUTTON THE TV WILL COME BACK ON.
HIT THE STOP BUTTON TO SAVE THE CODE.
REPEAT THIS BUT HOLD THE OTHER DESIRED DEVICE INSTEAD OF THE TV.
