My Samsung RS2630SH fridge and freezer are not staying cold. The condenser fan is running, I blew and vacuumed all dust off of the coils. If I unplug it for a few minutes then plug it back in the compressor kicks on and starts to cool. After 30-45 minutes it stops. The fans still run but the air coming out inside is not cold. There is no visible ice build-up. Any ideas? Thanks.

kilgoreaj I see you also ask me for my thoughts and have to agree with heatman101. Sounds like you need to focus on your Refrigerator Compressor Start Capacitor and Start Relay. I have been away for a while due to moving and knee replacement. I will be back soon but until then HeatMan 101 has your solution! Heatman101 is one of our best technicians, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Freezer isnt getting cold?

Unplug the fridge and then check the condenser coils for dust and dirt and debris buildup. Clean the condenser coils if they appear dirty. Continue to keep cleaning the coils when you do routine refrigerator repairs and Check to see if the condenser fan is working properly when you see the freezer is not getting cold enough. The condenser fan might need to be replaced for the freezer.

Samsung SRS583 HDP fridge stop working. freezer stopped first and fridge became hot too. wHAT MAY BE THE REASON? And how to fix this?

  • Be sure the fridge is plugged in and getting power. The light should come on when you open the door.
  • Check the thermostat to make sure it hasn't been turned way down by mistake. If your fridge/freezer thermostat isn't working,
  • Be sure the vents on the back of the freezer compartment aren't blocked by boxes of ice cream or frozen vegetables-the vents have to be clear for cold air to circulate.
  • Vacuum the coils under or behind the fridge. Clogged coils can cause poor cooling.
  • Check to make sure nothing is stuck in the condenser fan and that it spins freely (models with coils on the back won't have a fan). To do this, unplug the fridge and pull it out. Clean the fan blades and spin the fan by hand to see if it's stuck. Plug in the fridge and make sure the fan runs when the compressor is running. If the fan doesn't run, replace it.

Samsung RF25HMEDBSR bottom freezer fridge. Fridge is at right temp.,ice maker works, but the bottom freezer is not working.

The condenser coils are usually located under the refrigerator. They dissipate heat as refrigerant passes through them. If the condenser coils are dirty, they won't dissipate the heat effectively. As debris builds up on the coils, the refrigerator/freezer becomes less efficient, causing it to work harder to cool down. If the coils are significantly dirty, it will not be able to maintain the proper temperature. Check the condenser coils to determine if they are dirty. All models have coils in an enclosed area usually accessible via a vented cover at the back of the refrigerator. These coils help to keep the refrigerator and freezer cool. If these coils become too dirty from dust or other particles, the freezer may not work as efficiently.
unplug when taking the vent panel off to clean. bottle brush or a vacuum attachment be careful not to bend aluminium fins.

I have Samsung side-byside fridge RS2630SH problem with fridge not cooling properly 13c/55f, however the freezer looks to be working -16c/3f.

it seems that you have something in the freezer blocking the air from coming to the fridge, it can also be cover by an item from the fridge.

Freezer only gets down to around 18 degrees but fridge is fine. No frost on the freezer evaporator fan is running

Modern consumer refrigerators only have coils in the freezer. In the lower back of the freezer there is a small fan and possible a damper (flap that opens/closes) to push cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator. Given that the freezer is 18 deg, it's probably cold enough to keep the fridge area at typically 34 deg.
So the cooling system (compressor, coils, thermostat) are not working properly to keep the freezer at, typically 0 deg. Possible causes: partial loss of refrigerant gas, icing around evaporator coils (in freezer), compressor failing, dust clogging condenser coils (under fridge), condenser fan clogged or broken (under fridge), thermostat failure.
I'd start with condenser. Remove the slotted trim at the bottom front and look in with a flashlight. Are the coils clean? Pull out the fridge and remove the lower back cover (usually cardboard). You can now see the coils and fan. Clean and blow them out.
If it's icing, it probably means freezer door not closing tight. If auto-defrost not working properly it would probably get worse over the period of a few days so not likely.

Freezer not cold, but fridge is

Condenser coil is probably dirty, or the fan isn't running. If the coil is under the refrigerator, it will probably be coated in dust like a blanket. Use a vacuum cleaner with a straight pipe extension wand. I've also seen a dead mouse stuck in a condenser fan blade.

Samsung model # rs2630sh side by side fridge. center strip is hot

I had the same problem, and it was the condenser fan motor. I ordered mine from www.partstore.com. It was half the price of sears.
I would suggest ordering the 2 "plastic bushings" for front and back of motor. I was able to reuse mine, but for a few dollars more it's worth it.

Fridge and freezer not cold and frozen up

Can you remove the back panel inside the freezer and defrost the coils. Use a shop vac with the hose in the blow position instead of the vacuum position. And blow on the coils to defrost quickly. Hair dryers work also but prolonged use will burn up hair dryers. Now turn back on and see if the inside the freezer fan works. It should be running to keep the coils from freezing up. Also could be defrost timer. But this will be enough to get you going. Let me know how it goes. ken

Hot refrigertor

the fridge comes with condenser concealed inside body which removes heat from fridge & transfer to atmosphere hence it is found warmer than atm. temp.which is normal.the condenser is pipe in very long length to improve better heat transfer.this design also helps to remove sweating on body occured by cold air in fridge comp.u will find the hot effect is not everywhere on body because it is hot wherever the condenser pipe is there
