Light keeps flashing on top of canister of my Hoover Wind Tunnel but I emptied and cleaned it well. It sounds right when I turn it on then it goes into this sound like something is stuck but there isn't anything stuck. The suction is still there just not as strong. The red light also begins to flash when this happens. What is wrong? I have had this vacuum for a little over a year now.

This could mean your bag or canister is full

Perhaps dirt or hair is stuck or the full canister needs to be emptied, remove blockage and suction should return.

First thing to check is cord and switch

The part you refer to is not the HEPA filter. It's a very common misconception that that part spins - it looks like it when there's dust whirling around it. In fact, it does not spin - there are no visible moving parts.

That means that the belt is stretched and it is slipping on the motor shaft, that is why it is hot and smells like burning rubber. You need to replace the belt. Here is the correct belt you need:

Check the filter above the dirt tank. If you take out the dirt cup and look where in slides into the machine, there is a filter that is probably dirty. It can be cleaned or replaced

Hi, You don't say which model windtunnel you have but most are the same. The canister is in two sections with a Hoover emblem to the right of the handle. this is the side the filter goes on. The bracket slides out and holds the round filter, the round filter snaps into the bracket so that the end of the filter with the opening goes down to fit the hole in the bottom of the canister. When putting the canister back in the vacuum be sure the top goes back flat on the canister and the locking lever is open all the way. You have to slide the canister back in level and then it will drop down into position you can't tilt it. now you can lock it. Good Luck!

If this is new, you have a years warranty on it, take it for repair. Did you get the right belts, the numbers are 38528035 for the flat belt and 38528034 for the V belt. Also if you are catching something like a towel or area rug in the brush roll, it will knock of the belt. Is the brush roll turning freely. If not then it needs to be replaced, does it motor sound ok? If not then there is a problem with it.
