Hello,
The standby mode is a power saving feature. In this mode, a it does not shut down completely, just goes to low power
state and so it consumes less power. When it
resumes from the standby mode, full power is restored..
During the standby mode, if the power supply is disconnected or
interrupted, data might be lost.
Hope this helps,
Lucas
Standby mode is a state where a device is waiting for some kind of input, often in a reduced power or sleep mode. A typical example is a TV set with a remote control. When you're not using the TV it's not really "off". Power is still applied to the control circuitry and it's standing by, waiting for you to press the power button. Computers are often set up to enter a standby or "sleep" mode when you haven't moved the mouse or pressed a key for some time. Standby mode reduces the electric power consumed when a device is idle.
A demonstration of the display is shown if you have not set the clock.
You can reduce the power consumed in standby mode by turning it
off.
During standby mode
Hold down ['square icon'/-DEMO] until "NO DEMO" is displayed.
Every time you hold down the button:
NO DEMO (off)↔DEMO ON (on)
To show a demonstration of the display
Hold down ['square icon'/-DEMO] until "DEMO ON" is displayed.
