Question about RCA Televison & Video

1 Answer

My RCA XL100 is hooked up to cable and works perfectly fine. We've had it for ages and the picture is clear, sound is beautiful, and it gets along fine with my universal remote. There's just one problem; my memorex DVD player and my TV won't communicate!! I tried to press "input" but it doesn't work. I've hooked the DVD player to the back. The DVD player works perfectly on its own, but the movie I play won't even show up. My TV will just continue with its silly little channels. I've tried channel 2, 3, 4, etc. I don't have a cable box hooked up, just a cable. HELP!

Some of their very old sets the video input was located on channels in the 90's; Try scrolling down from 99 to 90 to see if you locate the video input; this is just the way they did things in the older sets.

Before you rate this solution let me know what you find first.

We just got a new cable box and now the Picture works but no sound. The volume is not muted on the tv or cable box. We've tried connecting the cable box three different ways and still get the same...

Does say a dvd player give sound when connected to the same input? If you have determined that the source is good and the speakers are turned on in the menu then I would replace the main board.

"snow sound" on rca tv, perfect picture

Although your picture is perfect, I would think the fine tuning is slightly off. This can also be to do with the cable box frequency setting. Call out the cable people & get them to check the box & the setting up to the TV.

No cable picture or sound

only thing I can think of is for you to check your cables... assuming you are using a coaxial cable for the satelite and rca cables for games and dvds, I would recommend trying a different coaxial cable. There is also the chance that the coaxial connection on the tv itself is messed up. you may try buying an RF modulator that will convert coaxial to rca, most rf modulators convert rca to coax. so make sure it does what you need before you buy it. tech guys at store should be able to help if you can't figure it out.
