to run duel screens you will need a graphic board that has 2 outlets
I run a nvidia board and it has a dvi and vga outlets connected to 2 monitors
open up the control panel and go to display
that will show 2 screens and they will be identified as 1 and 2
the printing will be for one screen and it will say -make this my main screen
further down will be a dropdown box that will have extend screen
click on that
as for the screen size or pixal settings click and drag the slide button up to the top and click on apply
any way in that display section you can move and click on different settings to get what you want, always apply to fix the settings selected
it will come back with a message --do you want to retain the settings and if you are happy --click on yes
regardless of what you choose , you can always reset at a later time
Have you ever had a wired interference on your screen:
NOW IT ENDS! There are couples of easy steps that will solve your problem! 1. Look out for any Electromagnetic field emitting devices next to your monitor and move themaway(like phones, big magnets, speakers...) 2.Make sure that the monitor's plug, is well plugged and notmoving around. 3. On some systems, it is possible to reset therefresh rate of the monitor to line frequency (60 Hz) without serious sideeffects. More often, though, this will result in a sacrifice of resolution, andin almost all cases, the jitter will have been traded for flicker (the refreshrate has been increased by the monitor manufacturer to avoid flicker - the eyecan detect a refresh of the image at 60 Hz). Further, if the backgroundmagnetic fields are strong enough, even setting the refresh rate to 60 Hz willnot remove all of the jitter. 4. If all above doesn't work, and you can't stand the interference simply buyand LCD screen and never have these kind of trouble again.
Try to lower the refresh rate
Go to
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display\Screen Resolution
Click on Advanced settings, Monitor, see if you have options to bring this further down
the available drivers for your Dell system can be found by going to the Dell support web site. You can use the following link: http://tinyurl.com/2g9p5fy
From there, you can select the version of Windows you are using to get the correct driver version. Hope this helps. Feel free to rate the usefulness of the info.
Hello, that resolution should be available but only at a refresh rate of 60hz as per the specs pasted below. Can you see this resolution setting on your graphics card? If not then perhaps you need to check you have the latest driver for your graphics card and just make sure that your graphics card does support that setting anyway.

Right click your desktop and select "properties". On the last tab (where you set the resolution) click the "advanced" button. On the new property sheet go to the monitor tab and uncheck the box that say something like "hide modes that this monitor does not support". Click OK then. Now you should have everything up to 200 Hz. Hope this helps. If you need any more assistance, don't hesitate to come back to me. Else, if the problem is solved, please do ACCEPT this solution. Download and install the latest driver software for your video card to make sure that's up to date. Then make sure you've got the right monitor type specified and you should have the right choice of resolutions and refresh rates. If the particular monitor you have is not offered as a choice by your operating system, you can usually get specifications from the manufacturer's website. Then pick a generic monitor type that offers the highest refresh rate the monitor can handle.
You need to get your computer in the correct resolution and refresh rate to make the monitor work. It looks like the correct numbers for your monitor are:
Resolution: 1024x768 pixels Refresh Rate: 60 hz
You can change these settings in the display tab or display properties (In XP - right click desktop, click properties, under settings tab adjust resolution and then click advanced, the monitor tab, and make sure refresh rate is set to 60 hz)
