No picture, sound ok

I have a 42" LG plasma TV, #42PC3DV. I have had it for about 2 years. While watching, the screen suddenly went totally black. The sound is fine. I tried switching channels, hooking up the DVD player, turning off, etc. Still no pic. What could the problem be? Hi, no sound no picture just red light flashing 7 times. Help.

Well i have found that most times it is the y-sus board that is if you tap the side and it don't work, open the back and check and see if the fuse is blown on the y-sus board it is usuall found on your left,.

I have a similar issue. Sometimes the entire screen goes black and sometimes only one-half - either the top or bottom half goes black. The only solution we have found is to gently tap the TV (usually the front side) and the picture will come back for awhile. It almost seems heat related as it only goes out after the first 10 minutes of use. There must be a fix to this.

WON'T TURN ON.

Powerboard damaged, if you could not see the Led light on stanby mode it means you have no power at all.

Go ahead and replace your powerboard and your TV will be Ok

LG 42pc3dv-ud

Yes you need to replace the board LG 6871QYH048B. The board has a short. Check the fuses and one of them should have no continuity
because it is open.

Replace that board and problem solved

DELL 42 inch Plasma TV

I have a 42" LG LCD TV and just experienced this today. Watching cable, then the screen went to black, but audio continued. I pressed the guide button on my remote and pic came on with my guide menu. But then went to black again 10sec later and has remained that way for nearly an hour. Tried switching off both cable box and TV, disconnecting and reconnecting cables, but no luck. Finally unplugged mains, waited a minute, then turned back on. Everything seems normal now after the reboot. Phew.

42 inch LG Plasma TV - Lost picture

Our LG 50" plasma tv screen went black after a popping noise but still had sound, after great diliberations decided to take the back off and have a peek!
We unplugged the tv and tested the fuses (there were three we could see) one had blown, the one on the left as you look at the back of the tv it also has one above it. We wrote the code/seriel number down and took the fuse to the electrical wholesalers Maplin and bought a pack of 10 fuses for £1.29 replaced the fuse in the tv and everything now fine!!!!!!
Hope this might be of use to anyone whose lost the picture after a loud popping/snacking noise but still has sound.
