THE SELF CLEANING FEATURE OVER AND OVER AND IT STILL
SPITS BROWN WATER AND SILT. I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE

SALVAGEABLE. PLEASE ADVISE AND THANK YOU.

According to the advertising, it is supposed to pump and generate loads of steam continuously.
Steam ironing Recommendations: To prime the steam circuit, either before using the iron for the first time, or if you have not used the steam function for a few minutes, press the steam control button several times in a row, holding the iron away from your clothes. This will enable any cold water to be removed from the steam circuit. • To obtain steam, press the steam output button under the iron handle. The steam will stop when you release the button. • After approximately one minute, and regularly while it is being used, your steam generator's electric pump injects water into the boiler. It makes a noise but this is quite normal.
I would try a liquid descaler like CLR and try to get liquid up into the head of the iron as well. My thought is that something is stuck with scale buildup.
The Tefal website has Customer Support and also says they are repairable.
Press the self clean button , hold it there, and gently move the iron to and fro, over the basin or bowel. CAUTION: Keep clear of the escaping water and steam. Water and steam will wash scale and dust through the soleplate, and into the basin or bowl. When the water tank is empty, release the self clean button .

Hi,
Increasing the temperature setting can ease this issue, however it is important to consider the type of fabric you are ironing.
1st option: Fill the iron up, and let the iron stand as the iron heats for little while before using. This may allow more of the water to be converted to steam.
2nd option: You could try using deionised/distilled water in your iron.
If you find that the water leaks out sporadically, it may be worth pushing the steam button once or twice before applying it to clothing.
read the steps and fix it. God bless you Clean an iron:
Unplug the iron and make sure it is cool before cleaning.
Use a toothpick or pipe cleaner to remove buildup in the steam vents, making sure the debris doesn't fall into the vents.
Use a fine sewing needle to carefully clean the spray nozzle of mineral deposits.
To flush sediment from a steam iron, pour 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup
vinegar into the water tank. Place the iron on a rack over a broiling
pan and set the iron to steam until the tank runs dry. Repeat if
necessary. Or follow the instructions for using a commercial iron
cleaner.
fill water chamber with vinegar and let it sit for 24 hours. empty vinegar - fill with distilled water - turn on and press the steam button to clean the holes in the plate of mineral deposits which accumulate from using tap water. after a few shots of steam all should be clear - empty and refill with distilled water and it should be good to go.
hi i have just looked this information up and apparently that using 100% distilled water can cause your iron to spit and leak, to solve this problem you should press the steam button and keep pressing it until there is no water left in the iron, then try it again, if it still does this, repeat a few times and then the iron should be fine hope this helps
Try holding the iron well below the base with the cord straight and pressing the steam button, this will release any airlock caused by a changing the filter
Can you remove the steam button if you can fill with water heat to maximum and holding over sink remove steam button rod this will clean the steam traks but be careful this gets very hot.
TO CLEAN THE BOTTOM OF THE IRON, MY NAN USED TO ALWAYS IRON BROWN PAPER, IF THIS DOES NOT WORK, USE A RAG DIPPED IN THINNERS, OR LIGHTER PETROL AND RUB GENTLY.
NORMALLY THE SELF CLEAN SYSTEM IS JUST A BUTTON NEAR OR ON THE TANK THAT YOU PRESS WHILE THE IRON IS ON AND HAS WATER IN, PRESSING THE BUTTON WILL FORCE WATER THROUGH THE STEAM JETS (SO KEEP IRON FACING DOWN) ALSO EMPTY THE IRON AFTER EVERY USE
