Re: TIME LAPSE function
The TIME LAPSE function makes it possible to shoot a sequence of pictures (such as a flower opening) automatically under pre-set conditions. Open the MODE MENU under the CAMERA tab. Use the arrow pad to toggle up to TIME LAPSE and select ON. On this screen you can select the number of shot (2 to 99) and the time interval between each shot (1 min. to 60 min. in 1 min. increments. Press the OK button and the shooting sequence will begin. It is advised to use the AC Adapter C-7AU for longer sequences. This function is not available in the AUTO or MOVIE Modes.

It is a gimbal tripod, the recording is done by your phone. If it is in Time Lapse, it is because you set your phone to Time Lapse! Everything is set by your telephonical smart phone, the gimbal device is just a place to park it.

Tim lapse video does not make any sense to me. In general time lapse is a way to take photos at a specific interval. You can actually make a movie showing fast action in post process on your computer (using 3rd party software)
Hi David if it's a dslr camera the photos can be found by firstly pressing the button with a triangle inside a square box then the left button inside the wheel dial.if you photograph astro shots like myself this wheel is great fun as it can be used as a time lapse function as star pictures have little movement so turning the dial left or right this gives you a terrific effect.it will give you a good idea of how time lapse photography looks too.Great on the screen!Let me know how you get on David please .thanks.maxine

There is no tme lapse function on the 400d however a search on ebay can come up with some 3rd party electronic shutter releases which have time lapse function fitted. Most are from Hong Kong but dont be put off I have bought lots of theses 3rd party accessories (battery grips, off camera flash cords, remote shutter releases etc) and all work faultlessly. Here is one of many.I do not own this one personally but I have several items by the "Yongnuo" company and they are great.
No. Time-lapse video is recorded at a much lower frequency than regular video. The information between recorded frames is gone.
Imagine taking a picture out of your office window once an hour. You might catch some cars moving and/or people walking, but you won't be able to see what happened between the pictures.
You can go the other way, from a regular video to a time-lapse video by skipping frames. Unfortunately you can't do the opposite without guessing at what happened in between.
