I have the same problem and it's driving me crazy.

I have the exact same problem with JVC HDILA 52G886. This morning, while we were watching TV, the picture and sound went out. Soon after, the Blue Power light and the Red Power LED started blinking simultaneously. I will keep you updated once I hear more. BTW, owuzzi50, have there been any updates on your problem?

When both the blue light and red light are blinking it means 1 of 3 things. 1. lamp replacement. This often works everytime for the repair. TIP!!! DO NOT USE ANY OTHER LAMPS OTHER THAN JVC AUTHENTIC LAMPS. ANY OTHERS AND YOU RISK DAMAGING YOUR TV FURTHER. 2. the fans are not working properly or need to be replaced. They need to be cleaned every so often and they will stop working from burn-out if not done so. This repair will cost you less than 100 dollars. 3. The ballasts are defective and need to be replaced. The ballasts themselves run about 150 dollars. I tell you I have fixed this TV more times than I care to count, not to mention the number of lamps I have gone through. The guy at the TV repair place now knows me by name when i come to buy lamps. :(

I am sorry, but I just had neck surgery and will not be offering any solutions here at FixYa! for a few weeks. You could get some top notch help from "robotek" or "Abrsvcs , both of whom are very qualified to help you with your problem. Once again, I am sorry, but I am just not feeling well enough mentally to be sure I would offer you help that you could really trust. I am on some pretty heavy duty pain killers and do not trust my own judgment right now.

JVC HD-56FN97 when turned on blue light is solid, red ligt blinks a few times and goes out. My picture is very dark despite adjustments I make in the menu, any help or feed back apreciated.

The set does use a lamp for a light source and average life is 2 years or 2000 hours---many lamps before they actually fail get to be darker.

Please help!!! Problem with JVC DLP TV

You need to replace the power supply board. The new ones have a bigger heat sink - obviously JVC knows about the problem because they made the new ones bigger. It cost $250 from JVC and I installed it myself - took about 3 hours to do. If you are not tech savvy call a repairman. Hope this helps.

Blue light in the front blinking no picutre no sound

This is the shutdown code for the lamp ballast. I would have a technician verify ballast is bad and replace. This can be a tricky repair for a novice because installation of the ballast requires that you remove the light engine. Hope this helps.
