Hi I have a Ricoh 1515MF and I recently had a power surge that fried my power strip, desktop and my Ricoh. The Ricoh will not turn on anymore. I have tried switching outlets, new power strips and nothing works. can you tell me what is the problem and is it easily fixed? If so, how can I fix it?

The power supply unit within the printer also would have damaged while the surge took place . The SMPS - the power supply - is quite sensitive to the power surge and so could have damaged the driver or the front end . you need to take a look at the SMPS unit to confirm. remove the power supply and check for fuse, if the fuse blows again then you have a problem in hand.

Chances are the power surge has damaged the Ricoh. A printer repair shop will be able to give you a estimate on how much it will cost your to repair it after he assess the damage.
If it was me, I would not waste my money to a repair and put this money towards a new printer.
Some surge protection board manufacturers have an equipment warranty that you can claim against in the event their surge protection powerboard fails to protect your equipment.

Shredder has quit working after a power outage.

Sounds like it fried despite the "surge strip". Which is not a proper filter for big surges, just a cheap movistor which might be fried also if you took it apart.

Why will my hp pavilion 6130f not power up anymore?: is my power supply fried? motherboard fried?

Could be the PS. Drop in a known working PS and see what happens - if nada then the hassle is with the mo bo.

depend on where the surge is. from power line, then most likely your psu is fried. if it comes from the modem/telephone line then probably your motherboard is fried.

Hi just put a ricoh 1515mf on the network but it just prints out lots of pages of rubbish help

Sounds like the wrong driver. Get the PCL5 driver for your model model from ricoh-usa.com. In a pinch use the HP 4 driver, it will get you basic printing.

After power surge, canon I9900 printer will not turn on?

You can try to power up with the printhead out, that sometimes causes it to not power up. Otherwise that machine is fried since you can't get a replacement logic pcb anymore.
