If you have your printer hooked up to your computer, you must have a HP desktop icon that controls the printer. Go to "HP.COM" and download the software for your specific model. Open up the icon by clicking on it, find printer settings and scanner settings to make any changes you desire.
erm your best bet is to find where you installed the scan software and find the icon there. Once you fond it create a shortcut to that icon on the desktop.
Open the control panel page.
Click on Printers & faxes page.
The list of printers will be displayed.
Right click on your printer icon.
On the displayed box go to 'send to'.
Select desktop.
You will have the printer icon on the desk top.
Reinstall again the cd installer because its not completely installed.
But you can still use the scanner from your computer and not on the scan button of your printer. Go to the Control Panel....Double click the Scanners & Cameras icon.. Double click the icon of your printer scanner.
Instead of using the HP solutions icon, go to All programs, and find your scanner entry and create a shortcut on your desktop to the scanner. Now, whenever you want to use the scanner, simply click on the desktop shortcut. This would be the simplest solution..
