Question about TruTech TT1620 DVD Recorder

I have a TT1620 but with the new HD antenna, I can not get the TruTech to find any channels.

Out of the several hundred reviews I've found on this product, exactly two gave it a passing grade. The vast majority of complaints were the flaky/useless tuner, and the flaky/useless DVD writer. The writer issue seems to be mitigated somewhat by using Memorex blank media. The tuner issue seems to be a design flaw. The only work around I've found has been to use the other inputs and use a cable or satellite box for tuning.

Sorry, but it sounds like you got one of the many duds. Wish I could offer more encouragement.

Will Mohu Leaf HDTV antenna work with TruTech PLV1615T?

It may simply be if only one local channel the signal is not strong enough for the set to pick up.

Will not pickup local hd channels

In order to p/u local channels, you need an external antenna.

Just like the kind grandpa had on the top of his house,,,,

The tru-Tech is a low cost / low feature tv and may not have the required circuits to convert antenna broadcast signals to a video / audio signal.

Bought a Trutech tt1620 today at a yard sale. Took it home and tried to have it play thru the tv. No response. Don't have a remote with it. Do I need a remote? Do I need a code with a remote? In other...

checked epinions for user reviews and determined that it is not worth wasting time on. Needs a remote and user guide. additional costs.

Not receiving HD channels on Trutech set

yes it does,also use an hdtv antenna with the
converter box.you may need an outside hdtv
antenna to pick up all digital channels.

I do not see a listing for TruTech DVD recorders in the One For All URC-3021 Code List.

But don't give up; many manufacturer's re-use other's control codes. Therefore, I recommend using the One For All URC-3021 Code Search feature to find the compatible codes to control your device.
