Hi
The user manual will provide you easy to follow instruction , if the user manual is no longer available
NO need to reset the router to retrieve the Security key ,Because if you reset the router you will lose all the settings and you might have to reconfigure it .Instead of resetting the router just connect your router to the computer through an ethernet cable and open the internet explorer and in the address bar type 192.168.2.1.and leave the password blank and click on submit button
Then under wireless option click on security ,again it will ask you for the password ,just leave the password blank and click on submit and then you can retrieve your security keys .If its 64 BIT WEP security then make a note of 10 numbers which you typed in under key 1.
Hope that helps

On the back of your router there is a reset button, hold it down for 3o seconds or so, this will reset the router back to factory settings, the default user name and password would be admin, note that sometimes with the belkin you only need the user name and not the password. Usually you need admin/admin though.

The default IP address to access the router when its reset is 192.168.2.1

Hope that helps

How come my laptop cant go on the internet even though it says my internet connection is excellent?

Jus check whether it shows that u r connected to the internet or your modem/router?
If it is the modem/router, check your security settings in the computer.
If it is internet, try resetting IE from the tools menu.

My husband bought a dlink router (it says dgl-4500 on it) and i cant figure out how to use it to get wireless internet for my new laptop....i have three "codes" he wrote down- a "router pass", a "network...

Router password is the password to access the router settings.
SSID is the network name. When you try to connect to the wireless network on your laptop, you will see this network name.
If your network is secured network then it will ask you for the network key or the password. You need to enter the ' security key '.

Cant find my wifi code to open a network

Your WEP is the security key you set in your router to allow other authorised devices to access your network. When you set it up, you set the WEP to protect your network from others accessing it without the key. So now all you have to do is set the WEP (security) key in your laptop the same as your router and you're cookin'. The same key must be used to connect any thing, iPhone, Wii, Play Station, anything that has WiIFi capabilty.

Brought a new laptop with wireless installed have a philips SNB5600 but have lost the security key how can i get the code

go to the wireless access point admin settings (not on your wireless adapter on your laptop). then check wireless security settings. if you see something there such as security key, that is the security key that you need to set up on your laptop. if security key is not visible, try to see if there is an option there which says unmask to show the security key, then copy it to your laptop. if all else fails, change the security key in the wireless access point and change all the wireless adapters that connect to it accordingly to the new security key you set it up.

The wireless network is broadcasting but it will

Howdy,

Sounds like you may have an encryption problem. Are you running an open or secure network? Try setting it to Security > Disabled and see if you can get on. (Please note where you were before you disable the security) This will be under the Wireless > Wireless Security tab. If you can connect after disabling the security then you probably did not enter you key code correctly. OR... You may have set it to a level of encryption that your wireless laptop does not support. (Don't know the age of the laptop - some older ones will support WEP only and "b" only.) Make sure that you are broadcasting in both "b" & "g" ranges and if WPA won't work for you, then try WEP. It is a little difficult for me to tell you exactly what to do because I do not have all the necessary information but perhaps this will help. The main thing is to disable the security first and see if you can connect. If you can, then this is a BIG clue and good news. Then you know it is an encryption issue.

Typically the encryption choices are WPA - WPA-PSK - WPA2 - WPA2-PSK - RADIUS & WEP. I would recommend WPA-PSK with TKIP for normal "modern" applications. If your WRTP54G has the Auto Security setup button on the front of the router you may want to use it to automatically set up your wireless security. You can tell by feeling the raised rectangular push button on the front panel.

Good Luck!

System will not connect to my wireless internet service

if you have security enabled WPA2 you have to have XP SP2 otherwise it will not connect.
try the follow:
1. try to connect via line to the router
2. if it works- try to disable the security
3. if it works- select WPA and not WPA2 and enter pass key.
hoe that helps

Modem router

I can tell that your network topology is not the most complicated ever.So u ve got 3 terminals,1 desktop pc and 2 laptop.Simple, reset your zyxel(from the button on the back) and reconfigure the Local area interface connection(ip & subnet mask for the zyxel),reconfigure your internet connection,(WAN zyxel interface) in case the zyxel is your Internet gateway too.Third, make sure NAT & Firewall are up and running(usually are by default) Finally, reconfigure the WiFi interface with the correct SSID name & WEP key or whatever security you prefer.Write down the security pass for your wireless and you are done.Good Luck.
