How to make a copy using a computer with lexmark x1240

for print you need to connected with computer but if you just want to use them as copier then it can work individualy.

If the printer has a copy button then put the paper on the glass and hit copy, if not then you need the computer.

you cannot do that with this printer ,as the computer needs an output program to work from. hence the CD you may have is the drivers and applications to be installed onto a computer to get the print result or scanned result.

you need a computer to drive the printer .

You will need to connect your Lexmark X1240 printer to a computer that is hooked up to a fax modem. Open the top cover. Place your document you want to fax facedown on the glass. Make sure the upper left corner of the front of the item aligns with the arrow. Close the top cover. Open the Lexmark All-In-One Center. From the Creative Tasks section of the All-In-One Main Page, click Fax an image. Follow the instructions on the computer screen. I hope this information has been helpful. Thanks.

They still give me free support on my 1020 and it's been out of warranty for years.

Download the driver from the lexmark website.
You should turn off the printer and the computer.
Unplug the printer. Turn on the computer. Bring it all the way up. Turn off the computer. Plug in the Lexmark. Turn on both machines. Install the printer driver.

try to pritner off then check also check that your cable is proeprly connected reconnect the cable.

Yes you install without the disk ,first you need to click here
then type X1240 you get option lexmark X1240 ...and then choose the OS and download the driver file and install in on your computer ......
