Did you upload it with a right type of video like avi, divx, vcd or dvd? if not then use a movie maker for uploading your video. if still unplayable try to download klite mega codec. it sure play all kinds of videos. hope that helps!

It is my understanding that the camera won't playback those formats, timecode or not. There are VCR type units for the HI8 and other formats. They should be cheap on eBay now...
your sony ccd-trv 108 will transfer videos(stream) to a computer using firewire connection. install the supplied software or use any program compatible for streaming like windows movie maker. use a firewire cable. check your computer for a firewire port(port with IEEE symbol) make sure that the tape is totally rewounded then press the record button on windows movie maker as the same time as you play the video from the camcorder. (its basically playing the entire video in order for windows movie maker to record it.

Most digital HDD sony handycam video cameras encode MPEG-2 files in 5.1 surround sound audio. You probably are not hearing sound because your playback software does not support 5.1 surround sound encoded MPEG-2 files. Try using a newer peice of software with the latest codecs installed.
I have tried to copy movies to the computer but when I try to play them on the computer, there is no sound I transferred the videos I recorded onto my computer but no sound when playing them on the PC. The file is also a video clip file not an audio/video file unlike other files that I transferred from my other camcorder
