Is there any way to run automatically. . . where when it reaches humid per cent it shuts off? Can you rig to run for x hrs. per day and then shut off and restart the next day?

I see that your question is if the fan should shut off once it has reached the recommended setting. The fan will run even when the compressor cuts off so that air can pass over the sensor coils to check the humidity. This is a normal operation. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

First, tunr the unit OFF and unplug it for 10 minutes. Then plug it back in and turn it ON. It will automatically set at 70%. Press the - button and lower the humidity extraction level to 45% in increments of 5%. Once you reach 35% press and the - button one more time. Now the unit is set to run continuously, until the bucket is full and the unit turns OFF automatically or you manually turn the unit OFF. If the unit shut off automatically, because it had reached the humidity extraction level you had it set on. It won't turn back ON again, until the humidity level rises above the setting you have it on. Lowering the humidity extraction level to 32 -35%, should make it start up again and cycle like it should. If your unit does not have an LED Screen, set the manual control on Maximum.Be sure the bucket is not full and the air intake filter is clean.

Depending on which mode you have the unit set on, will determine if it shots OFF entirely or the fan continues to run. In the Constant or Continual mode, the compressor will turn OFF, once the humidity extraction level has been reached. But, the fan will continue to operate, in an effort to keep the air circulating, so that if the humidity level rises, the compressor will turn ON and start extracting again.

In Timed Mode (usually 2 hour or 4 hour) , when the compressor turns OFF the fan does too.

Wendy, it's probably because the humidity level on the unit is set higher than the humidity level in the house. Keep in mind, the humidity level you set the control to, is not the amount extracted from the air. It's the level you want it to maintain. The higher the percentage level, the more humidity stays in the house. The lower the percentage level, the more humidity it removes, until the lower humidity level is reached. Then the humidifier will automatically shut OFF and/or the unit shuts OFF, because the bucket is full. Once it's emptied and replaced, if the unit needs to continue to extract humidity, it will start running again.

If you are in a very humid room or area it will not shut of until it reaches desired humidity% level that is set. If it is reaching the set level and not turning off I would return it.

As an example, if you want the Humidity % factor to be 50%, 70% or whatever % you want in the space in question to be, set it at whatever % you want the space to be and the humidifier will work until it reaches that setting. It will then shut down until it determines that the humidity has reached a level that requires dehumidifying again. You can set it to run for 2 hours and it then it will shut down for 2 hours, or you can set it to run for 4 hours and then it will shut down for 4 hours. You just have to decide just how humid the area is that you are dealing with.

Unless you live in a dry environment or place the unit in a hermetically sealed room, it probably will not turn off. As the air dries within the room, more moisture comes in with the air. As long as the air outside of the room is more humid than the room this will be true.

Well your dehumidifer runs constantly. My guess seeing how you bought a 30 pint per 24 hrs. Your house better be 400sqft. It is under sized and humidity need to be 30/50 percent to stop mold growth. It cant keep up its two small 50 pint are for 1000sqft 65 pint is 1300sqft. Upgrade now!!!!!

Contact points in the humidity control may be stuck or arced together. If so this item is not covered by warranty after the first year in most cases.
