Take the back panel off make sure power is off and check if the belt has come off or broken and also check the pulley that spins belt is tight and if all that is ok then it sounds like the motor might need to be looked at

Old kenmore dryer, drum won't turn

Could have the motor frozen, (armature, bearings, etc) causing an overload on the circuit. Can you physicly move the drum by reaching in and turning it?

Large loads won't balance & spin

Could be:
1. Broken spring(unlikely)
2. Bad shock absorbers (maybe)
3. Broken spyder-the Inner drum part that holds the drum to the hub(kinda likely). If inner drum can be moved without outer tub also moving in tandem, then broken spyder is likely.
Good luck

Kenmore Heavy Duty Plus Dryer 86273100 drum won't spin

How could the belt be in working order if the drum doesn't spin? Check to see if the belt has come off the motor. If the motor runs but your dryer doesn't spin, the belt is off. If the motor runs with the belt on but it still won't spin then you'll have a lot of black smoke because your drum is jammed. In other words, there are a number of things that could be wrong, but not very many.

Rear brake drum is sticking how do you remove brake drum?

Remove wheel and make sure parking brake is off. Pull on drum. If it won't move take a big hammer and hit the sholder of the drum They will get rust on them and may stick. A quick jar with a hammer usually helps with this. http://www.ehow.com/video_2327529_remove-tires-brake-drum.html

1999 F250 4x2 - was stored for 3 months and when I tried to move it - the right rear wheel turns but the left rear wheel won't turn. Took off the brakes and caliper - still won't move. I can move...

Hello, The rear rotor has 2 sets of brakes on it. The other thing is to look for slight movement in the driveshaft when it clunks. Depending on the rearend, some have to have both rear wheels off the ground to turn each side. And of course the trans in Neutral.

With the rear wheel you have an Emergency brake and a drum brake inside the center of the Rotor.
The rear of the brake backing plate has a rubber plug which is covering the Star-wheel adjustment for those drum brakes. You can try to loosen the Star-wheel to disengage the Emergency brake shoes. You can try pulling the brake cables toward the cab, to loosen the cables.

If this does not help, your Emergency brake shoe probably rusted off the brake mount and is jammed inside the drum. The linings fall off the metal like banana skins. I can tell you that if the Emergency brakes are a State safety requirement, you need to consider new rotors because the drum portion is usually trashed with rust.

I hope my Solution is very helpful to you.

A zipper from a comforter is lodged between the moving drum and its housing causing a possible drag on the rotating drum. not sure how to dislodge zipper or remove drum to access

The whole drum should move a bit. Try turning it by hand and pushing back on it (or pulling forward). Also, you can try lifting up quite hard (drum is free to move about 1/2" in all directions the way most are set up. I havn't seen this specific unit but it is worth a try.

Otherwise, I think there is a set of screws around the top perimeter holding the top deck on. Remove that and you will have a better view of what moves and by how much.

Remember )

1) Unplug the unit before unscrewing anything.

2) Make sure everything is put back as you found it before putting lid back on.

Also, you won't break anything by only taking it apart to look. Have fun doing it and good luck. Hopefully they used standard screws instead of some tamper-resistant fasteners that German manufactures are using a lot of lately (Braun, Krups, Bosch, ...).

Most hopefully, you can get it un-stuck by shifting the drum a bit.
