Broken Wacom Bamboo Fun Pen

I dropped my tablet pen and it is broken now. Only the eraser works. This is my second pen (I dropped the last) and I don't want to buy another one. Can I fix it?

exactly the same problem. i changed the tips, alas, no difference. it seems bamboo fun's pen breaking has become a fashion now- there have been many complaints about it's fragility

is there any way that i can fix it

  • Anonymous Nov 27, 2008

My Dog chewed up the front of my pen... I'm not sure if theres a second one. I really don't wanna spend more money on another tablet because of 1 pen. I dropped it a couple times... and It still seems to work. It was pretty sturdy until my dog had to come and eat it for breakfast. Is there any other way to maybe get another pen without buying another tablet? I only got 1 pen from buying it.

Lf only one end of the pen is not working and you dont use the other end, you can unsolder the copper coils eon-both ends and swap them over. Tip for opening: lift up the small blue bit nearest to the top, and then pull.

SOURCE: Wacom Bamboo Fun Pen isnt working correct

I think you dropped the pen on its tip and broke the little ferrite sensing core.  You can try to repair it by gluing the core back together - it worked for me.  For detailed instructions on how to do it, go here: http://wishidknownthat.blogspot.com/2009/04/fixing-wacom-bamboo-pen.html  or you can try to swap the core for the eraser and the tip (more involved - you would need to be very good with a soldering iron to attempt this).  Either way - it's unfortunate that the pen is so fragile and that the user manual doesn't really warn you of this.
Good luck!

My Bamboo Fun Tablet pen/stylus is not working. The tablet registers that the pen is there, the light turns orange, but the mouse will not move, for either the pen or eraser side. It will move for my...

That happened to me yesterday. What I did was I went to the wacom site here: http://www.wacom.com/downloads/drivers.php, selected my tablet make and operating system, and downloaded the driver update. I installed it and as soon as it was done my pen started working again. Hopefully this works for you too!

Pen Tip Not Working

I had the same problem and called Wacom Customer Care at 360-896-9833... I was informed that the pen was defective/ broken and needs to be replaced. This can be caused by being dropped and such. I was told that i should keep the pen on the stand or a eyeglasses case when not in use.
If your tablet is under a year old, warranty will cover the cost of the pen with proof of purchase. Other than that, you will need to purchase a new pen (about $29.99 from Wacom & online).

Unfortunate, but great to know.
