First make sure that brush roll is moving not broken belt....if all ok then try setting height for thick pile carpet lift head a bit this will ease off on a thinner carpet and in turn make it easy to push,

How remove plastic bag stuck in dyson hose

Thanks, sonic boom electronics, for the idea to shove the garden hose up there. Our hose is nice and narrow and it worked perfectly! I pushed it through one end and started feeling resistance, and kept on shoving and when the hose reached the other end, it was pushing out the plastic bag. Whew!

Dyson head does not stay on carpet

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07. If the head won't stay in contact with the floor, the internal hose may have become twisted. The easiest way to resolve this issue is simply to remove and refit the internal hose, taking care not to overtighten it. The video below may help when doing this.

This should resolve the issue, but if you'd like any further assistance with your machine, please call our Helpline free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US). One of our advisers will be happy to run through some troubleshooting over the phone with you.

Best wishes,

Hi, Dyson DC25 brush bar very hard to push on short pile carpet. Looked underneath and red rotating brush bristles are quite proud of the floor tool. This leaves pronounced track marks in plain...

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC25. If the cleaner feels heavy to push, it may simply be due to the machine's powerful suction - the soleplate is engineered to form a close seal with the floor surface for high pick-up. The tracklines on the carpet are nothing to worry about - they're a normal feature of operation of the revolving brushbar.

It's also normal for the exhaust air from the motor to become warm after a period of use. I note you've stated that the filters are clean, but you might want to take a look at the video embedded below to check you've washed them correctly. Under normal use, they should be rinsed under cold water at least once every 3 months, and allowed to air-dry. No detergents should be used.

If you have any further concerns about your DC25, please get in touch with us directly so one of our experts can provide the assistance you need. You can call us free on 08002980298 - our Helpline is open from 7am until 10pm, 7 days a week.

Kind regards,

I have a brand new Dyson DC28 Airmuscle Vacuumand it is so hard to push and/or pull. Is there a button to make it easier or is it the machine?

Hi there,

Your DC28 is equipped with Airmuscle™ technology, which allows you to raise or lower the brushbar to suit the flooring you're trying to clean. You should be able to make your DC28 easier to push by changing the setting of the carpet height selector. You can find out how to adjust this in the user guide included with the cleaner. In case you don't have yours to hand, here's an online copy:

http://media.dyson.com/downloads/US/floorcare/Manuals/dc28_opmanual_usa.pdf

By raising the brushbar, you should be able to reduce the force needed to push and pull the cleaner. If you've tried this, it may simply be the powerful suction which is making it feel a little heavy to use.

If you're still concerned, please get in touch with us free on 1866MYDYSON or email [email protected]. One of our experts will be happy to answer your questions.

Kind regards,

I don't feel that the vac is close enough to the carpet anymore .. it's almost like I have to push the head down so it reached the carpet to roll the brush through it ... I've tried a friends vac and it...

Consider disassembling and cleaning your unit. Sometimes dirt and grit will build up, and when wiped away allow the moving parts to function better. Dysons are made to be broken down by the homeowner. A manual can be obtained here: http://www.manualowl.com/m/Dyson/DC17/Manual/205779

Dc07 problem

the dyson uses two belts, one from the motor to a clutch and then from the clutch to the brush roller, the belts that they use are not much better then any other belt ( those you should change yearly ) but you cant just change the belts you have to change the entire clutch assembly itself ( you can get it at sears ) but it is not an easy job you might want to take it to a repair center.
