The Safely Remove Hardware dialog box does not appear
Hi, I just got the Coby mp3 player and when I connect it to my computer the "Safely Remove Hardware" box never appears. Even though I can find the Coby player in the computer and I can drag mp3 files to it (and the player is working normally), I'm worried that nothing happens when I connect it or disconnect it. No symbol appears! I already checked and there´s no sign of the player in the Safely remove hardware box, as though the device were not recognised. I have connected it to other computers and the same thing happens. With my old mp3 player I just connected it and the dialog box simply popped up. What should I do? Is it dangerous for my computer or mp3 to be using it this way? Thank you very much!
Thanks for the reply, the mp3 is working fine on my computer although the safely remove hardware box is not showing.
But I connected it to a different computer today and the Coby icon is not showing and I am not able to open it, not even play files. What could be causing this, if it works fine on my computer?

Just in case someone else has the problems: If you go to Settings- Usb type: Choose "Msc". If you select that option the mp3 will open the Remove Hardware dialog box and the mp3 will be working fine.Just in case someone else has the problems: If you go to Settings- Usb type: Choose "Msc". Download the firmware update and save it to a location on your hard drive that you will be able to remember. This firmware includes a specific fix for the multiple reasons that the device is freezing.
Press and hold the "Menu" button on the player, then connect the Coby to your computer's USB port. The power on the MP3 player must be turned off when completing this step. If your MP3 is frozen, unable to be powered down, use the push pin to push the "Reset" button on the bottom of the device.
Let go of the "Menu" button on the player once the "Found New Hardware" screen appears. When asked if Windows can connect to Windows Update to perform a search for the necessary software, click "Yes, this time only," then click the "Next" button.
Choose "Install from a list or specific location(advanced)" to determine where Windows should look for the driver files, then click on the "Next" button.
Place a check mark in the box labeled "Include this location in the search," then click "Browse." You can search for the directory location where you saved the driver file in Step 1. Double-click the driver package and select the "usb_driver" sub folder as the driver location. Click "OK," then "Next."
Select the "m3usb" file from the "usb_driver" folder when prompted on the next screen, then click "Open" and "OK." The "Completing New Found Hardware" screen will appear once the drivers have been successfully installed, then press "Finish."
Unplug the Coby MP3 player from your computer.
Double-click the "USB tool" EXE that is located in the "MP3 Firmware Update" folder that you downloaded in Step 1. The USB Tool application's welcome screen appears on your computer.
Press the "Menu" button on the Coby MP3, holding it down as you reconnect it to your computer. Your MP3 is now identified as "Device 0" within the USB Tool, and you have a yellow-colored status box when connected.
Click "Burn NAND" to begin the firmware correction process. After about four or five minutes, you receive a notification saying, "Burn Task Completed."
Disconnect the MP3 player from your computer, and wait for the device to power up completely.
Click the next series of green boxes that have red lines going through them on the screen with your finger or a stylus until the menu appears. You see them in the top-right and lower-left corners of the MP3's screen as calibration on the device is being completed. The firmware is now installed.
When your MP3 Player is connected to a computer, you may transfer music files to your MP3 player using your operating system's basic file management commands (i.e., copy-and-paste or drag-and-drop).Connect the Coby MP3 player to your computer through its USB adapter.
Select "Open folder to view files" from the new device dialog box that pops up. If the new device dialog does not appear upon the hardware's connection, click "Start," click "My Computer" and right-click the Coby MP3 player's device icon in Windows Explorer .Click "Start," click "My Music" and open the folder containing the music you wish to transfer onto the Coby MP3 player.
Drag and drop the music files or folders into the Coby MP3 player's open directory. Alternatively, you can highlight the music files or folders and click the "Copy the selected" link from the Files and Folders Tasks menu in the left column. Select the "Removable Disk" drive from the list of destinations.

last one is for the Internal Memory of the frame. Double-click on the

Just in case someone else has the problems: If you go to Settings- Usb type: Choose "Msc". If you select that option the mp3 will open the Remove Hardware dialog box and the mp3 will be working fine.
