No. Your camera is not compatible with a microscope, but Olympus does manufacture a DP-10 microscope digital camera system designed specifically for medical and industrial use. For more information about this, please contact the Olympus Precision Instrument Division at 800-446-5967.

Where can I get a manual for an unidentified microscope?

Email nikoninstruments(at)nikon(dot)net with some pictures of your microscope and I'll see if we can ID it. Make sure the pics are bright enough and in focus and at a wide enough angle to get a good look at it. Nikon Instruments Microscopes and Imaging Systems

The same Microscope with 1.3MP camera lists Window 8 compatability. Why not the microsc. having 3.0MP camera? Will it in the future?

most cameras work with any windows version. there are also special microscope-camera-programs you can download for your camera. I would not worry about the software.

I need a driver for my microscope

National optical microscope use a Motic camera and software. The drivers can be downloaded directly from motic's site: http://www.motic.com/Download.aspx?r=NA&lang=en/. Some of the older camera's will not work with Windows 7. I believe that the DC2 is old enough to where there will not be a driver for Windows 7, however there maybe a chance with the camera firmware update. Follow this link to determine if yours will work: http://www.motic.com/ProductDetail.aspx?r=NA&lang=en&cid=163&pid=941

Problem with Leica microscope

if you check the operation for spliting to a photo tube. PG 49 you can see the procedure for using a camera (there is a control pin on the side of the scope (shown on pg 49) which you have to operate to switch to the camera output... you should then be able to take your photos :) http://www.vashaw.com/assets/84/84original.pdf

Image rings when using Coolpix for microscopy

Under some circumstances when using the Coolpix 4500 attached to a microscope concentric rings are visible as in the below. The COOLPIX 4500 aspherical lens surface is ground to create the ideal curves to gather rays at the focal point with an extremely high accuracy. Such minute lines are not visible in the image taken with a camera alone, however if the camera is used with a microscope, the lines become visible as the depth of field is increased due to the combined F numbers of the camera lens and microscope lenses.
