Broken Flat Panel Screen . . . 32" Astar

Is there a dark patch when you see the picture, easiest way to check is on the tv tuner with no cable attached, this way you have a grey static screen, if there is a darkness across the screen when it lights for that breif moment, then it may have a broken backlight tube. Had the same problem with my 32" LG.

It can be fixed by only by replacing whole LCD Panel. It is expensive (usually about 500-700 for a 32"). You have to take the whole TV apart to replace the part. It will not be covered by any warranty because it is physical damage and very easy to tell just by visual inspection.

Man I feel for you..

You can have them repaired using a TV Repair guy but often it costs as much as a brand new tv. My daughter broke my $1,600 LCD. It would have cost $1,200 to fix.. so I just bought a new one.After that I picked up a TV screen protector called TV Armor http://www.tv-armor.com Its designed to protect the TV from damage. Now I dont have to worry anymore when she is playing near it. It works really well.

hey brother, I got the same problem with my TV same brand, same size, I can tell you that this company has too much problem here in california so they closed.1 month ago I went to the main office cause they are in my area.
the problem is that there is no solution for this problem, no body say nothing. I been looking for some spare parts since april 2006.
and nothing find.
