To round numbers to the nearest thousand, make the numbers whose last three digits are 001 through 499 into the next lower number that ends in 000.

you are going to have to do some more work. but think first. you need to find a scrap yard, aka a junkyard, aka an autorecycler. there are thousands of them online and you can search their inventories from your computer. find one and use their parts search to look up your car and scroll through the parts to find the engine. next to it there will be an "interchange number". now you can use that number to find a similar engine in other cars from the same maker. bear in mind that an engine may well interchange, but if it did not come from the factory with the same transmission, then other parts are going to be needed to do a swap.

you can accomplish the same result by phone calling all the junkyards and asking them if they have an engine to fit. however you may have a lot of long distance air time spent waiting on the phone, you can better use the same time searching more junkyards and you can do it in the evening night or weekends.

It will be 499,995. The place value would be. Ones is 5, Tens is 90, Hundreds is 900, Thousands is 9000, ten thousands is 90000, hundred thousands would be 400000.
