Question about HEWLETT-PACKARD Office Equipment & Supplies

I have a 6310 all in one printer. The fax and copier work but when I try to scan a picture I get an error message. I re-downloaded the program but I still get the same message.

Printer comes with "Line interface Unit" short black phone cord (male to female) this must be plugged in between printer and phone cord.

Does the All-In-One say Sanner failure...?

Try the steps mentioned bellow

Remove both the ink cartridges from the All-In-One.
Unplug the power cord from the All-In-One as well as the power outlet.
Now move the carriage (carriage is the one which holds the cartridge) Too and Fro till you feel the carriage is moving smoothly.
Then insert the cartridges close the access door.
Plug the power cord directly to a wall outlet without surg protector.
Before connecting the power cord to the All-In-One press and hold the # and no 6 button and then insert the power cord, do not release the keys
until you see a message a reset (if the screen goes blank then release the keys and turn the power on)
Now try printing a test page or make a copy

I have never used the scanner on my HP 3310 all in One Printer and now I need to. When I hit the scan button to scan my pictures, I ger a message on the screen of the printer that says "No Scan Optios" Refer to devise documentation to troubleshoot. Can you help me and is there a driver software that I need to install. I do not have my programs that came with the printer as we just moved and I can't find them. Can I download something from the internet to help me use this function? and also I never used the fax, but the copier and printing part of the printer works fine. Thank you for your assistance.

Try using widows paint. Look in windows accessories off the start program menu. If you open windows paint, look for open file from "Scanner or Camera". Most likely you can get the scanner to work again in Vista. Otherwise...try Vuescan scanner software. I think you can get a free trial period online and it should also work. You'll have to pay for that if you like it.

2. Uninstall the existing driver from program and features under control panel.

* To search for progam and features, Click on start or the windows vista logo on left bottom, click on control panel, clck on program and features and then unistall the printer driver.

3. Power off the printer and unplug it from computer.

4. Install the printer from the saved drivers and plug it when asked.

Restart computer once the installation is compete and hope the scan would work after this.

HP 6310 needs to reset power. Tried turning off

it may be the power supply itself! have any of you tried using a different power cord? the problem may not be in the printer but in the cord itself. i have 2 hp 6310's that were giving me the 'reset power' error. when i changed the POWER CORD, that error message went away and it went into the insert cartridges mode. good luck.

Scanning with 6310

Press and hold the windows key and press R, when the run menu comes up, write in it: mspaint then click ok to start the program.

aslong as the drivers for your hp are installed you should be able to scan with any program, press file and then from scanner or camera. scan a document with it.

HP 6310 won't scan from my new Dell laptop

You have to manually add scan options via settings>scan options>scan to>

that's within the HP solution center btw.

No Scan Options for HP Oficejet 6310

This is a resolution for "NO SCAN OPTIONS" in the front panel screen of the All-In-One Only:

If you are getting this message when you are trying to scan from the All-In-One.
And If the software is successfully installed in your computer, then you should have a icon in your desktop as HP Solution (if not got to Start> All Programs> HP> HP Solution Center) Then try scanning from there, if you are able to scan from there then try the steps bellow.
Open solution center> Settings> Scan settings> Scan to setup> Then in this window click on Restore defaults> Then apply or ok and close all the windows and try to scan from the All-In-One printer.
If it still does not work then try the bellow steps:
Go to:
My computer>C:windows>system32
Copy hpzipm12
minimize this window

Right click on Start button on the computer>Explore>Programs>Startup>edit>paste
minimize this window.

Go back to My computer>C:>windows>system32
Copy hpzinw12
minimize this window

Right click on Start button on the computer>Explore>Programs>Startup>edit>paste
Now you will see two new files in Startup

Now go to My Computer>C:Program Files>HP>Digital Imaging>bin>
Copy hpqtra08
close this window

Right click on Start button on the computer>Explore>Programs>Startup>edit>paste
Restart the computer

Open Hp Solution Center> Settings>Scan settings and preferences> Scan to button>
check destination list> if available applications are not in the destination list then add them in the front panel destination
Tried to scan.
