First take the mass air flow sensor off and clean the small thin wires inside using a non-chlronated brake cleaner then let it dry for 10 minutes then re-install it and see if the problem still exist. If the problem still exist then check the fuel pressure while its running. It should be 30-40 psi if its the 3.8 engine non-superchared and 30-45 for the 5.0 engine. If its not within these specs then replace the fuel pump.

you may have a fuel related problem,
remove the engine cover and find a fuel test port on the fuel rail
have some one crank the engine and you push in on the core of the valve to see if you have any strong flow of fuel
Check to see fi your fuel pump is functioning, also change the fuel filter. I had this same problem on a 1984 626. While i waited for the car to restart fuel would seep into the line to allow for the enging to startbe that was it.
