Can you turn it on using the power switch on the TV since this one is known to have bad contact switch at the IR remote input jack on the back of the TV.
LG:
1) Test the remote:
The remote control puts out IR (InfraRed) signal that human eyes cannot see, to find out if the remote is sending out the signal or not you just point the remote at the digital camera's Lens (Digital Camera can detect IR), you should see flashing light on the camera's screen when any one of the remote button is pushed. If you do see the flashing on the camera, then the problem is in the TV IR receiver or the main logic board; more troubleshooting with scope will be needed to look at the signals.
Parts: www.shopjimmy.com

2) If the remote checked out OK, then look at the back of the TV for the "REMOTE INPUT", use a mini-phone plug and insert the plug into the remote input jack in and out a couple times to clean the switch contacts that select between the front IR receiver of the TV or the rear panel IR input jacks.

Check the socket in next room , wherer as TV is required to be used with tester if the sockets r having the electricity. also if no tester is available. check the switch with any other applince i.e mobile charger etc if current is passing on. else you have to open the TV back lid with 4 nuts with a screw driver n switch the scrren n check with kavya stich with tester if its getting a current or not as well as the fuse besides it if a small line inside is intact or broken . in case its broken . get it replaced n the tv ll be workig , for further info issue.get the TV checked from the workshop as it can be checked n then the solution can be provided accordingly.

Magnavox tv , when turned on the volume goes to cero by itself and control wont work on it

Make sure the batteries in your remote are new. Unplug the TV power for about a minute. Plug TV power in. Turn TV on and try remote again. If no luck, make sure no other IR devices are in the room and turn off any lights and try again. If no luck, try a new remote. If no luck. your TV may need to be serviced.

Screen stays blue and wont show the picture

TV may be on the wrong input and that will give you a blue screen. When you turn the TV on and the screen starts lighting up it should show on the screen what input the tv is on. If it is not on correct input change input with the TV remote or buttons on the tv. If it is on the correct input try a power cycle on the cable box, just unplug the cable box power cord for a few seconds and then plug it back in. If neither of these solve the problem describe how the cable box is connected to the tv.
