I have a Mits WS-65511 that the picture lighting started to to fade in and out. We still have sound but the picture is not the right color, fussy and lighting is dim. I did reset the TV, no difference. I did reset the convergence to factory reset, no difference.

I've looked into it further and it could be as simple as servicing the Lenticular Screen and Fresnel Lens which basically involves removing the screen from the case and splitting the Lens & Screen then fixing them back together with some special double sided tape from Mitsubishi. Sounds easy until you remember its 2 x 55" sheets of glass and when you put them back together there's a 0.16" overhang at the bottom. I also hadn't realised until I looked into it further that it's a rear projection CRT not LCD which I dont' know a great deal about fault finding on so think I'm probably better passing on this one and see if another expert could help you diagnose the fault. If you get any further I've got a copy of the Service Manual which details how to strip it down to access the releant parts.
