Hi,here is the solution......
Since you successfully connected your
DVD /Receiver to play video on TV (one way only ) ,here is the second reverse action to listen your TV on DVD /Receiver
** you need to connect "Audio Output " as can either be : RCA jacks or "Optic cable output" or "SCART "connector " of your TV ,
** to "TV input "or "AUX input" or "Optic Cable input"
of your DVD /Receiver (whichever you want based on the necessary cables on your hand )
** than just switch to respective mode on
DVD /Receiver corresponding the connector you have used on the back of DVD /Receiver ..
*
You can use "HDMI" connections as well but sometimes HDMI creates problem on Audio..

There you go..Both Tv and Xbox sound are on the
DVD /Receiver as SURROUNDING SOUND .By this means ,whatever you watch on the TV will come thru your DVD /Receiver SURROUNDING SOUND .

Hope this helps!..if more help requires pls let me know.
Take care and please

Do not know how to get regular T.V. hooked up to this system

try using the red White cables from back of tv to back of dvd player/receiver. Do the same with DTV/dvr or cable box. not sure if cable box has red and white cable outlets, however the DTV-DVR does, The quick patch is from TV to back of dvd (input audio)side,....that should work

I have a 50 incch samsung tv with samsung surrond sound/receiver/dvd player. I have no voices when we play a dvd but the music plays what is wrong

You need to have the audio from the DVD player hooked up to the same input path on the receiver.(if your running video thru the receiver) DVD audio should be hooked up to either an analog input (RCA cables) or Digital input like Digital Coaxial or Optical. Next to where you are plugging in these cables will be writing like "DVD optical" or "DVD digital". Then, make sure you switch the input of the receiver to "DVD" then it should work fine. If you still have problems post a comment and I will help some more. Hope this helps

I have a vizio tv, sony dvd player and direct tv. i also have a denon avr-1905/785 surround sound receiver. i can't get the surrond sound to work while watching tv but it be comes through if i am watching...

If your TV has audio out and your surround sound has an audio in you need to get a lead to connect them together, most of them have - then you just select the Aux on the DVD/surround player (or whatever the input is called on the back) and everything comes through your speakers. If you only have headphone out jack on the TV it will mean you won't have your TV speakers working. I hope this is not really obvious to you and it was the first thing you tried!

How do you connect a dvd player to the back of the 42''JVC LCD ?

the directv needs hookedup to the tv, also the dvd player needs hooked up to the back of the tv, what type of cabling are you using, red/white/yellow or coax (where it screws in) or does it plug in and say hdmi, etc.

Kenwood VR6070 speaker/amp problems

unit needs repair. Look at the b speakers. Conect a speaker or two to the B position. If you have no sound than your surrond sound is ok and the unit is bad. Sound comes directly into the b speaker and not threw the surrond system. My 6070 has a cold start up problem. no sound. time to purchase a new one. to costly to repair.

Problem hooking up my system to the T.V.

check the back of you tv and see if it has the audio out plugs. if it does the you plug the white and red audio cables into the audio (in) on the dvd player and the audio (out) on your tv. then press function on your dvd player until the light on a/v comes on.
