On my old laptop I had Windows Media Player which I used to rip CDs and then down load them into my Sansa MP3. I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron which has the Windows Media Center installed, but I cannot figure out how to download new music I ripped to get it into the Sansa. Any suggestions?

If you have the windows media player11, there's a horizontal menu below the title bar which shows: palying now - library - rip... put the CD in > open the WMP 11 > rip menu > and extarct the songs that you'll copy to the sansa.
otherwise, if you have an audio cd, convert the songs to mp3 format using "switch converter" then copy them to your sansa...

"No Song" displayed even though music has been loaded, many times

The songs ripped from CD are not in the right format. In Windows Media Player, highlight the Rip tab, click the black arrow under the Rip tab, select Rip Options --> Format --> Mp3. Now, re-rip the songs. Before you transfer these tracks to the player, make sure you delete the tracks that are on the mp3 player now, or else Windows Media Player wil ltell you that the tracks are already there. Now, transfer the newly-ripped Mp3 tracks to your Sansa. Should be good to go.

There are many settings in Windows Media Player for Ripping music. Make sure yours are set to WMA with 192kbps or higher..

Windows Media Player>Tools>Options>Rip Music (Copy CD).

Sansa e260 won't let me download certain music

If you used Windows Media Player to "rip" (copy) the music to your computer. The default settings are to "copy protect my music" if you didnt change this setting, the Sansa will want a "license" to go with it. Resolution, change the setting in Windows Media Player, Tools>Options>Rip Music (uncheck copy protect my music). You can also change the default rip setting to Mp3, as opposed to Windows Media Audio. Then you would have to re-rip the tracks to your PC, as unprotected. Make sure you delete the old tracks from the device, otherwise, it will always give you that error message. Best of Luck.
