The easiest way is to invest in a memory card reader. Many new laptops have the SD memory card readers built right into them. Or you could get a usb one. They are very cheap now (under $8). To transfer them to your computer you would go to mycomputer then under removable devices the memory card should show up. click and drag the folder to your desktop and vwala, you just transfered your photos to you computer.

I have an Olympus C-750 and am no longer able to download pics from my camera to the laptop.   The laptop just does not turn to the feature it used to when the USB is plugged in.
I no longer have the Camedia software to reinstall.  I have tried  the web site at olympusamerica.com/download but it does not work either.
Please help.
Thanks

How do I download images from the camera to view on my computer? With the camera turned off, connect the USB cable to the PC and plug the smaller end into the camera. The camera will turn on and display the selection screen for USB. Use the arrow keys to select the PC option and then press the OK button. The camera will be recognized by the computer as a removable drive. There are instructions available at our web site (http://www.olympusamerica.com/download). For editing and managing image files with a PC, install the Olympus Master 1.0 software from the supplied CD-ROM. After installing the software, connect your camera to the PC via the USB cable provided.

I have a problem with images on a memory card that don't download on to Lightroom, or are not visible after the import has ended. see more detail below. please help.

Instead of downloading the pictures using Lightroom, make a file on your desktop. Copy and paste all of your photos from the memory card into the folder. Open the folder and change your computer's Finder (Mac) or Explorer (PC) to the thumbnail viewing mode. If all of the files show up there, try opening them from there. If not, let me know and we will proceed to step 2.

How to down load pictures from the camera to the computer

You didn't specify the make and model of your camera, but I'll assume it uses a memory card of some type.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Download from computer to the camera

you can load images onto a card via a card reader, but not directly to the camera. Also images that have been through an editing process in the computer will have been altered so as to be unreadable in the camera- if you were thinking of using the camera to view via a TV for example

How do I view and/or download the pictures taken with my digital camera my computer?

Once you have properly connected your camera to your computer (see FAQ #2 listed above), your computer will see your camera (connected and powered on) as a disk drive - most likely listed as "removable disk." Now that you know where to look to find the images, they can be viewed and/or downloaded in a variety of programs. Please visit our Learning Studio for specific step-by-step instructions (complete with examples and visuals) for further assistance in viewing/downloading images.
