What you can do to resolve this:
- uninstall and reinstall the wireless assistant program. - go to programs and features under control panel and look for wireless assistant
- go to HP website and look for the desired driver for your wireless - download and install the driver
= if did not work =
you can perform a system restore on your machine to restore it back from the day as the wireless assistant is working.
try to the the steps below:
- click start > all programs > accessories > system tools > system restore - look for a date (select a date that the wireless is working) - follow the on screen instructions, more likely by just clicking next. - then after your computer will just automatucally restart back into the desktop.

hope this help.

My bluetooth button stops working, how will i override it? coz i have my wireless assistant yet i can't enable it using that coz the bluetooth button is not on. My laptop is hp compaq 6715b

You could re-install the bluetooth driver..
Contact HP for the driver..
Or in the HP wireless Assitant.
You need to click on properties then you need to check all the options available and click on apply..
Then you will see the buttons to turn on/offf the bluetooth and the wireless in HP wireless Assistant main menu..

Hp wireless assistant problem

Is your wireless network working fine? If yes, it is better to close HP Wireless assistant program as windows has inbuilt program to detect the WIFI connections. You can type "msconfig", go to startup and close the required process. It should stop.

HP wireless assistant is a factory Shipped software. Try uninstalling it from Add/remore Programs ( Start > Run > Appwiz.cpl) and uninstall. Install it from Pc Help and Tools/Pc Tools under All Programs of Start menu using the Application recovery option. If No recovery partition, install from Hp.com using the Product Number of the Laptop

Hp wireless assistant 3.00 C2

Hi,

You may install a different version but it is not guarantee that it would work. I suggest to connect your system to an ethernet cord (wired connection) then click on the link below..

http://tinyurl.com/6jlcth

You should see there Start Detection - it will automatically detect the system driver you have. You should select the operating system then you may reinstall the network driver then.

Keep me posted.

Thanks

If you have vista click the start button and in the start search type "hp wireless assistant". It should show up in your list while you type it. Click on it. Once the assistant box shows up, click on "properties". A "settings" box should show up. The main one you need here is "independant controls for installed wireless device". Check that box. The other ones are icons and indicators that you can check at your discretion. If in doubt, check them all. Hit the "apply" button. Then in the upper right hand side of the box hit the button that says "turn on". This should activate the device and if you have a light up indicator on your computer, it should change color or light up. That should do it. Kind of weird how it gets to that point.
