Question about Canon Elura 100 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

2 Answers

I was importing video from this spring and noticed the audio kept cutting in and out and at times the picture would pixelate. I tried another tape and it had no audio at all. It is possible the camera was dropped at one time, so my question is Is there anyway to recover the lost audio?

The videos are not playing back normally in the camcorder. Previously recorded videos playback fine, but the most recent ones do not. My fear is something has broken on the camera itself, which had affected the recording. I amprobaby falsely hoping that something abbé done to recover the audio.

Its possible that you have some problem in the head-record and need some cleaning job. No, if your original-master record isnt good quality video or sound are cut, no way to recovery.

Isnt a good news but is all that we can comment. Try first with time clean head.

Hi,

I'm sorry to know that the transferred videos are not transferring the audio along with it. I'll be glad to assist you with this.
Please make sure that the videos are playing back normally in the Camcorder. If the video and audio works normally in the Camcorder, then it can be transferred to the Computer without any issue. In that case, I suggest that you try transferring the videos using a different Software or else you can try a different Computer. This should resolve the issue.
Please let me know if you require any further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

    Hello,

Based on the information provided, it seems that the issue is in the Camcorder. As the previous tapes are playing back normally, it may also be an issue with the Recording. Try recording on a different compatible tape and check if it works. If the issue happens again, service may be required to resolve the issue, as this may be due to the recording mechanism.

    Thanks for contacting Fixya.

How to change aspect ratio?

I have found it on my remote(SAMSUNG LCD) it says picture size(psize) or go into settings and look for aspect ratio or if you have a cable box go into settings for picture size, Sometimes if theres no HD ive noticed this setting can be tricky and you always have to play with it, are you going thru your tv (what is make or model) or a vcr do u have cable box, or call the manufacturer of t.v.

Pixelation and sound drop out

This case sounds like really dirty picture and sound heads in camera and tape kept sticking so exposure was on each part of tape too long.
Keep camera heads shiny and clean by buying camera tape cleaner.

No DV output from Canon GL2. Using a firewire cable from DV port on camera to firewire port on Mac Pro tower. Attempting to import the camera live to Final Cut Pro. Previously worked just fine.

Was the tape your trying to import recorded on the camera you are trying to import from? I've noticed that sometimes the tape I recorded on my old Panasonic won't show up on my GL2. It's like it's a blank tape, but I know it's not, as I have it labeled. Stick it back into the panasonic and it plays fine.

Line on playback of vhs c tapes

You should play them through a different machine. Your video heads are dirty. You can get a head cleaned and this will work. It is probably not your tapes if they were kept clean.I hope this helps.

The problem is with the tape...Never rewind tape in the play mode for some reason it will screw it up.
And only use good tape such as...

Audio jumpy on playback

these heads should be cleaned by hand, use denatured alcohol on tape cleaning sticks . never rub up and down on the video heads only sideways, be very carefull. after wardware blow the heads dry with commpressed air or wait a few hours before you stick a tape in or your tapes film will stick to the drum cylinder. if this does not work you can sometimes adjust the tape guides just little to get the audio track back on track.
