When shooting with flash in a location where there are many suspended particles, such as in a dusty area or on a snowy day, the image may contain white circles as shown in the picture below. Why does this happen? If the flash fires when a suspended particle floats right in front of the lens, the reflection of the flash from the particle appears more intensely than that of the subject, as the particle is much closer to the lens than the subject. Therefore, the reflection of the flash turns out in the image and causes an effect such as that shown in the sample image above. The closer the lens and strobe are located, allowing suspended particles to be exposed to more light, the more frequently this effect can occur. How can I avoid this effect? Ideally, it is best to shoot in locations where there are very few suspended particles. If not, you can use following method to prevent this effect. a) Avoid using flash by lighting the area as much as possible. b) If your camera has a zoom function, shoot at a wide angle. c) If you can attach an external flash, use the external flash to distance the flash from the lens.

Why is there two black spots in image on screen. Two round black circles. Not sure what it means and where they came from

1st make sure screen is clean. inspect when off. use only cloth slightly damp with water.
2nd make sure it is not the image by looking at another image or a blank white screen. Some test images will display each color.
if it is there on any image the pixels are dead. But being circles sounds more line screen cleaning

I bought a 52" Polaroid for like 50$ and the

the white circles are called halos caused by technically a burn-in u either ignore or change the screens particularly the one on the inside for a new one......the halos have made a burn-in on the screen its like taking a spot light and pointing it to a surface for long the light will eventually image its circular image on the surface like a discolouration hence the snow like white balls as u call them....another suspect the optical dome glass maybe dirty u got to open the box screen chamber and use a soft cloth to clean it

What causes translucent white circles?

Vijian - I own several digital cameras, including the DSC-55. I have not experienced this problem with my camera. Try two things......adjust to "low" regarding your camera's flash setting, and secondly, put a piece os scotch tape over the flash and see if this helps. Be careful not to cover your light sensor on the front of the camera's housing.
