Is this a D80 or a D200?

If you had a failure during firmware upgrade, then your circuit board is trashed. Send it to Nikon - it requires software to replace.

My camera will not focus and take a picture.. I am receiving a r07 on the top screen and nothing seems to be helping. Any suggestions?

"rXX" is the cameras estimate of how many shots legt on your memory card. As for other issue: Turn camera "ON" and remove battery while holding shutter button for about 30 seconds. Turn off, reinsert battery, turn "ON" then press hardware reset button on bottom of camera for about 2 seconds. Page 200 in Nikon d70 (do not know about d70s) manual.

My nikon d 70 freezes after taking 10-20 photos. sometimes if i turn it off and back on it will resume normal function.

Try this: While camera in "ON", remove the battery, wait approximately 30 seconds while pressing the shutter buttn, reinsert battery and turn "Off" then "ON". There is also a hardware reset button on camera bottom. With camera "On", press that button for about 2 seconds. (page 200 in user manual)

Assuming that you've already tried a good firm hand on the zoom ring then all you can realistically try is to give the lens a few good firm slaps onto a desk to try and free up whatever has gone wrong. Brute force usually sorts them out, but it is "kill or cure". This lens lacks a macro mode, so this is not the usual simple case of adjusting a lens control and then slapping your forehead with embarrassment...

The lens is otherwise uneconomic to repair as it's one of the cheaply built kit lenses and so you can easily obtain another for less than the cost of repairs.

Cannot turn OFF self timer mode on Nikon coolpix 8400.

Press the self-timer button (marked with a one-handed clock) once for ten-second delay, twice for three-second delay, three times to cancel timer.

Tissot PRS 200 My watch is not keeping time. It is not a batery problem. I have been told that it is because the chronograph is always working. How do I shut it down ?

Your true actual time second hand is on one of your subdials. That big "second" hand is really your chronograph seconds timer. It should start and stop when you depress one of the plungers/ buttons on the side of your watch.
Again, that big hand does not need to be turning all the time (or ever if you never use your advanced stopwatch/ chronograph). The true seconds hand is very small on one of the smaller dials.

I, too, am raising my hand on this?D40 with same autofocus problem, with all AF-S lens, 18-35 kit, 18-135, 18-200 VR, 50-200 VR. No solution after trying all above.

Please give more detail on this problem .
Have you tried another AFS or G lens.
Also the af switch could be turned off or the
back focus button could be set inthe custom menu .

Nikon18-200mm lens

Are you referring to a lens that has the Vibration Reduction? These are the settings:

Normal - The image stabilization is on, but is for when you just hold the camera "still" by hand or are using a uni-pod.
Active - The image stabilization is REALLY on, it's for when you have a shaky hand, like in a car or boat, or no uni-pod and you need extra sensitivity to control shake.

I have the 70-200mm VS f2.8. Boy, it's great.
