You could format them yes, but sometimes the device will not recognize certain memory sticks. You could call sony and see if those are supported USB sticks.

Hello, people! I've got a stereo sys SA-AK17 Panasonic. Can I, by any chance, connect/adapt it to read USBs or at least to my phone? I don t have CDs or cassettes anymore, but the speakers are great and...

There are many hi-fi and phone docks with usb capability but I don't know of any preamps with that capability, which you would need to use as an interface - they probably exist but so far I haven't seen one.

There are many digital to analogue converters but the software to search and recognise playable files would be absent.
The easiest way would be to play your digital files from your computer through your Panasonic, though I would guess they are in Mp3 format at a relatively low bit rate so you might be disappointed with the quality from your hitherto impressive hi-fi.

I think the wisest thing would be to purchase a usb fm transmitter, somewhat out of fashion today but offer a huge advantage for those whose music and other audio material is stored digitally. I bought a couple and mine look like a memory stick and once inserted the computer sees it as another sound card. Set it to the desired frequency and tune any nearby fm radio to that frequency and your music files will be broadcast from big speakers in reasonable quality without the problems of connecting leads or impedance and sensitivity matching.
My usb fm transmitters were very inexpensive and have a range of up to 30 yards but considerably more expensive types can broadcast into every corner of a large house and fairly extensive grounds.

Having gone digital and rid yourself of hard copy, I hope you have had the good sense to make at least two backup copies of your library...

I can't connect a usb device with music on to the clavinova.

You have to format the USB stick using the Yamaha Clavinova. The reason is that the keyboards expects certain file/folder structures on the stick. If you format it on the computer, the computer will not know what files or directories to create for the Clavinova when it formats the stick.

Cruzer blade not recognised by sony car audio

Dear Friend,

IMPORTANT!: Save all your data first then, uninstall the U3 Software then, Format the drive to FAT32, pass all your data back to your thumb drive and try in your car radio. If the problem persist, try to format it to NTFS format.

Good Luck!

Can i use a memory stick to playback music through a hi-fi music centre,or portable radio please.

Only if your hi-fi supports such devices or if there is a port to plug it in. Check also the Hi-FI user manual.

I just bought a new computer and I need to transfer files

A SanDisk Cruzer Mini is a memory stick, like a modern floppy disk. Plug it into a USB port (a thin rectangular hole) - it may be at the back of your computer. Your computer should then recognise it and you can copy files onto it.

Pioneer AVH-P5000DVD stereo USB Error 23

I had the same problem with my Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD. Just got my 16GB sandisk micro cuzer in the mail from Radio Shack. Here is what I did to solve it:
  1. Copied all the files that came with the Sandisk device to another location (in case I need them again)
  2. Copied all the music I had put on the Sandisk since I got it to another location
  3. Using a Windows PC, I right clicked on the drive in Windows Explorer and selected "format"
  4. I re-formatted the cruzer mini to FAT 32, default size (yes, I know it was FAT 32 already)
  5. Copied the music back to the cruzer mini
  6. Plugged it into my radio and it works GREAT! instant access to any track
Before you do this: Reformatting the drive also gets rid of the software that makes the cruzer mini copy files super fast. It will take a lot longer to copy music to the drive. For me this is no big deal as the only reason I bought the drive was to put a bunch of music on it and then leave it in my truck.

My pc is not recognising my connected sandisk cruzer control stick?

Solution for ALL PCs with USB 2.0 ports.

1. Move it to the PRIMARY USB port.
2. Check your BIOS configuration to make sure your USB ports are enabled
3. Assign an IRQ to the USB ports ( this is done by Y/N setting in the BIOS )
4. Download and install service pack 2 ( usb 2.0 is enabled by installing service pack 2 )
