HI,try going into control panel and click on sound and audio devices,
audio tab, and check the volumes for all the your components. If that doesn't work check the status of your integrated sound from your laptop by right clicking my computer, properties, and the hardware tab. click devise manager, and check the sound and video game controller and make sure each and every one of them that are present are running without trouble.
your integrated sound device may be getting old
your software files need to be updated
internal speaker wires may have came loose
speakers are blown out
if you have run all these test and find nothing wrong with the speakers, software, drivers, and wiring, then your sound card is most definitely the problem. If you are looking for cheap and loud sound for a laptop and you don't want to spend allot, there are usb devises that have a speaker connection, or for a little more you can get a pcmcia card that will plug into the slot of your notebook. If its a laptop you will find a volume control on the side or front of the laptop, which works in conjunction with the on-screen controls.
