1998 Ford Expendition Eddie Bauer was putting refridgerant then alternator started to spark change the alternator and positive wires but wont charge battery??? The car wont start!!!

Try putting in a positive battery cable

Have someone check the charging system on the truck. The light comes on when the alternator is not charging the battery.
Could be a wiring problem between the alternator and the battery.

Recheck the Alternator. if it bleeds the battery down, the diodes are bad in the alternator. an easy test is to diconnect the battery cable for the night. if the battery doesn't bleed down, it is the alternator

Throttle body bore and plates may be carbon coated . TPS may be getting old and have dead spots at and near idle position .

Does the engine turn over? If the starter is turning the motor, then your issues are going to be no fuel, no spark. If not fuel means that your fuel pump, fuel pump relay, fuel filter is bad (common issues first). If you have fuel and no spark then your coils are bad, crankshaft position sensor, cam shaft position sensors are bad. Are there any check engine lights on? If so read the codes with a scanner. If not, then you are going to have to check electrical with a multi-meter to see what the problems may be.

I had the same problem with my 2007 Ford Expedition EL Limited. The dealership suspected the heater control module on the center console is malfunctioning/tripping. They reset this by unplugging the it then re-plug after about 3 minutes.
You can do this yourself, too.
To do this, take off the bottom-most center console cover, then lift up the whole stereo cover to expose the wiring behind it. You will see the back of the heater control module with two (2) plugs (black and blue). Unplug the blue one then wait for a couple of minutes before plugging in again.
turn on the ignition and you should see the display on the dash back to normal, then start.

sounds like a alternator issue.
charge the battery and start the truck and test to see if the alternator is charging the battery.

IF BATTERY IS FLAT AS WELL YOU HAVE ONE MAIN THICK RED WIRE FROM POSITIVE TERMINAL ON BATTERY TO POSS ON ALTERNATOR THIS IS MOST LIKELY BROKEN OR CRACKED STOPPING THE BATTERY FROM CHARGING WITCH MEANS YOU CAN DRIVE UNTIL YOUR BATTERY RUNS OUT OF POWER THEN ALL ELECTRICS DIE HOPE THIS HELPS

It's possible the main fuse is blown. Have the battery fully charged and start the engine. With a digital volt meter, check to see if you have 12 volts going to your alternator (the large wire on your alternator) If not, the main fuse is most likely blown. The main fuse links your battery positive cable to the alternator 12 volt supply cable. It is probably mounted on your fuse box but probably won't be listed in your fuse box layout. Unbolt the battery and alt wires going to the fuse and check for continuity, ohms should be 0 or close to it. So now that you spent about $300 on a new battery and alternator, you find out it was a $5.00 fuse!

Did they check it with engine at or above the 2500 rpm's?
