I have a Sony tv projector model KDSR50XBR1 it was shutting off by itself after while when was turned on but now immediately shuts off as soon as I turned it on. I just replace the lamp so the problem is not the lamp. Any help… Thank you

it can be one of two things 1 The Bulb need to be replaced, (do not buy from Sony, buy it from amazon for about 70.00 2 check your filter make sure you are getting enough ventilation. Tony
Older model---it should when you try to turn it on have the red light blink for several seconds (set is checking things inside) and if comes on and shuts off that light should blink a specific sequence of blinks----5 blinks and repeat it endlessly---

The Lamps have been known to cause odd shut off and on issues. Particularly if the Lamp has 3000 hrs or more. The average life of a Lamp is 3000hrs.

t does sound like a bulb problem, either its over heating and shutting
off to protect itself, or its already shot. Give a TV repair shop a
call and see if they can give you an approximate price, then decide to
ditch or repair it.
The 7 blinks usually indicates a high voltage shutdown situation. Without the specific model, I can;t give you details about parts etc. The options are a defective flyback transformer or problem with the voltage regulation circuits. Please update this with the model number and I'll post additional details as soon as I can.

The problem is dry joints on the vertical output ic for sure(commen fault with sony),ime in the uk and 99% of the time i get a call about sony tv its allways switches itself off, caused by dry joints.
