Try the easiest things first: shut it down, then unplug it for 30 seconds or so and turn it on. If this does not work, you can turn it off, then hold the menu button down while it boots. This does a reset on many things, I don't know about that particular printer, but it won't hurt it to try.
To turn it off, when things are open (called a hard boot) you should hold the button for about ten to 15 seconds or until it turns off. If it doesn't go off by then, unplug the damned thing cuz the button is probably no good.
As for turning it on, it should come up right away. Again, if not, button is bad. That means the switch behind the button needs replacement.
Same thing happened to me so I took the thing apart and that's all it took. The compartment that contains the battery and chip had a vacuum built up that prevented the button from being depressed. Once I opened it and released the pressure the switch worked again.
THE TURN SIGNAL AND FLASHER ARE TIED IN TOGETHER.YOUR FLASHER SWITCH IS ON THE DASH.ITS A ROUND RED BUTTON WITH A WHITE TRIANGLE ON IT.WHEN YOU PRESS THE RED FLASHER BUTTON ON DASH.IT WILL MAKE YOUR FRONT AND BACK SIGNAL LIGHTS BLINK.WHEN YOU WANT TO TURN OFF FLASHER THEN YOU PRESS THE RED BUTTON.IT WILL TURN OFF FLASHERS.
I'm not certain about yours, but my Acer Aspire 5920 has an audio/volume turn button, just under the lip of the laptop, just to the right of center. Even if you un-mute it, if the volume is turned down all the way - the button revolves, so looking a the front, turning it counter-clockwise will turn the volume down to off, and you won't hear a thing, no matter how much you try to un-mute the thing.
So turn that rotating button to the right, to make it louder, after you have un-muted a control panel volume slider and moved it up, and that just might make it work for you.
Good luck!
I had the same thing happen and I just figured it out!!! Why this thing didn't come with these instructions is beyond me. That's why it was on clearance at the Walgreens!
Ok, after you have your music sync'd and it has been fully charged look on the left side of the MP3 player and you will see a button that says: ON HOLD OFF
Keep the button under OFF and just hold down on the play button and the unit will come on. The button on the left is just for holding your songs it is not to turn the MP3 player on or off. The PLAY button is the power button.
Hope this helps!

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard
