try another outlet if the light still will not turn green you will need to contact sony,
if the light does turn green let me know and we will get this fixed

some dry out, and you can't tell by looking at them. see if the colorwheel is spinning. if it chirps before it shuts down, or if it doesn't spin at all, replace it. otherwise replace the ballast.

I have had my WS-65511 fail like this, first at 4 years, second 2 weeks later, then 3rd time yesterday (4/14/2009). In past, the tech replaced a thermal sensor p/n 299P313010A (but Mitsubishi says that part is not for WS-65511 and that it does not have a thermal sensor - go figure). It is a white rectangle with about 30 pins in 2 rows and is soldered onto a board in the TV. List price is about $25. Might be your problem.

What needs replacement?

Technical Service Corp 888-942-2929 is where you can purchase an optical engine, I inquired for my RD 65. The part cost over $900, not quite worth it.
