take it in for a proper diagnosis and quote but at this stage I would junk it and save the money, purely because plasma tv units are very costly to run
The short answer is yes, it is fixable. It won't be cheap though. The entire panel must be replaced.
The part number for this is: 6348Q-C049M with a cost of $2,417.11 with a core return refund of $750 which means that after you return the bad panel, you will be credited $750. The net cost for the part then becomes: $1667.11 plus shipping.
Probably not, this sounds like a claim on the h o u s e ins but i don't recomend you do it as your premium will go up. If you have insurance that covers accidental damage then you will have to pay the excess. Get a quote first. I don't think i can help you any further.
Could be the PCB, but it is hard to say. I am looking for one that has a good screen since mine got cracked (don't ask LOL) so if you are interested in selling it let me know.
being that it fell , this is already a bad sign that the screen is dammaged and it will need to be tested and looked at to see what other dammage has happen to it
Get the tech supplier to tell to the manufacture and the store what he told you.
Physical damage on any electronic device is very hard to have serviced under warranty. I have never seen a plasma display crack on its own. But, anything can happen.
I once saw a man drop a newly bought plasma TV in a parking lot outside from where he bought it and the screen broke. He never even made it home from the store!
Maybe you should contact a lawyer or someone who can give you legal advice about how to proceed with this. In different countries and different states the consumer protection laws are different.
