It's not yours or anyones burners....just an update in vista which buggered the policies up
Go to your run command and type (start.....Run.....)
type gpedit.msc
Go to User configuration/Administrative templates/Windows components/Windows explorer
On the right pane, double click on "Remove CD burning features" tick the enabled button, then OK.
Reboot or logoff/logon to apply.
If your vista version does not have the gpedit function, do the following.
Open regedit, go to:
In the right pane, if it does not already exist, create a new
32-bit DWORD value. Name the new value as NoCDBurning, and assign the
value data to 1. Reboot or logoff/logon to apply.
My Canon PIXMA MP500, purchased in mid-2006, came with the (then) ScanSoft OmniPage SE2 software on a CD. The PC had WinXP Installed. I had no use for the ScanSoft it so I made no effort to install it. Fast Forward: Two PC crashes later, July 2009. Using Win Vista Home Premium LOST, important WinWord document file, only a hard copy available. I tried to recover, scanning the "Xerox" copy. The SE Version of OmniPage was very complicated but I succeeded in producing a replacement *.doc file.
It appears that newer editions of WinVista contain the right printer drivers for this Canon Model.
try right clicking on the program on your desktop and then click on properties after that click on compatibilty, next click the box next to run this program in compatibility mode, then click the box below that and select windows 95 or windows 98 / windows me. that should fix the problem. if not then you will have to uninstall and reinstall the game.
Right Click Driver Installation, (open cd rom, not auto play) and click properties. on the tab click run in compatibility for and select xp. it should work. This works for multiple products.
If you have the CD-ROM A: You can install the software that supports both versions of Windows Vista (32 bit / 64 bit).
- If you have the CD-ROM B: You can only install the software for Windows Vista 32 bit version, however, you can download/install the software for Windows Vista 64 bit version from the web site
- If your CD-ROM is "C" or you do not have any CD-ROMs: Download/install the software for Windows Vista 32 bit / 64 bit from the Canon WEB page.: (select your OS)
