Hi, Try reseating the wireless card then restart the computer. If that doesnt work manually reinstall the driver, you should be able to find the drivers on the acer site. It could be the card itself may need to be replaced. If you know someone with a usb wireless adapter borrow it, install and see what happens. Since it's not showing in the device manager but shows it is disabled makes me think it's a driver/hardware issue. Robert
Your machine was difficult to track down. As far as I can tell, the 5260 is the Intel motherboard. Below is a link to a page where you can individually download the drivers you require. Best of luck! Greg
Plug in the Ethernet cable to the PC, go to device manager via the control panel and your wireless network adaptor will show there (under other devices) with a yellow question mark next to it. Right click it and select update divers.
BCM4401KQL is a broadcom based ethernet chipset Simple download the driver for your operating system from this http://www.broadcom.com/support/ethernet_nic/4401.php link.
Once the zip folder is downloaded then through Device manager select the folder to where the driver files were extracted then the device should install.
Try to update its drivers. Go to the Device Manager. In the device Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver to start the Hardware Update Wizard. Follow the instructions to update the driver.
You may be prompted to provide the path of the driver. Windows may have the driver built-in, or may still have the driver files installed from the last time that you set up the device. If you are asked for the driver and you do not have it, you can try to download the latest driver from the hardware vendor’s Web site.
How to go to Device Manager:
1. Right-click on My Computer on the desktop and then click on Properties. Then click on the Hardware tab and then Device Manager button. 2. Double-click on Network Adapter. Double-click on your network adapter to view its properties. 3. Look for the Device Status or any error message. If it says "This device is working properly" then the adapter is properly installed.
here is the drivers and utilities page for your laptop. http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_4310.html just download new drivers and restart. go to your os then drivers and utilities tab then wireless broadcom and lan broadcom.
I will assume that your broadcom adapter is not showing up under Device Manager > Network Adapters. It will happen if the driver is not properly installed.
Look for "Other Devices" under Device Manager. Usually, it will show as Network Controller or Ethernet Controller. Right click that and select update driver. Make sure that you have the driver or file for that adapter. Once the driver is properly installed, it will be under Network Adapter with the correct name.
