Every time we flush the toilet it makes a screeching sound, like something is about to explode, any ideas on how to make it stop?

Which flush mode makes it sound like that? Does it ever get stuck filling and you have to make it stop?

Check the power source to toilet and all wiring conversed.

It could be the type of flap you are using. I would suggest you try a different shaped flapper (a cone would work best) and if that doesn't do it, put a new kit into the unit, because it could be that the float system is sticking causing it to continue running.

Something is leaking. Your description sounds like tank water is slowly leaking and then the tank refills. You really need to use Kohler brand parts, as others pieces seem to not work well.

WELL A TOLET SHOULD SIT LEVEL,BUT THE SHOULD NOT BECAUSING IT TO STOP UP ,UNLESS THE FLOOR IS THAT WEAK OR IT IS REALLY UN-LEVEL.IS THIS A NEW INSTALLATION?MAYBE SOMEONE DIDN'T PUT THE WAX RING ON RIGHT,BUT IT REALLY SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING FELL INSIDE THE TOILET,ALOT OF TIME YOU NEED TO REOVE THE TOILET AND TURN IT UPSIDE DOWN TO SET WHAT IT LYING IN THE TRAP.ALSO YOU CAN TAKE IT OUTSIDE AND FLUSH IT THRU WITH A HOSE,

Have you tried the "800" number on the tank label or visited the Flushmate Web site?

Could be related to the plumbing or the Flushmate. Technical support should be able to help you pinpoint the cause and, if it's Flushmate-related and under warranty, provide a resolution.

Sounds like something is either in the bowl stuck or down in the waste line. I would probably pull the toilet and pour water down the waste line to see if it backs up or set the toilet up on something and pour water into the bowl to see if it comes out. At least it will help to find out where the problem is. Have you lost anything recently that might have fell in the toilet. Did something come off of the plunger and get stuck in the bowl?
