I think you will need to disable the Van speaker connection to the DVD system. Can you tell me what is the model of your DVD system. You can test your wired headphones on other devices to see if it works. Then you can check the menu options and see if there is settings about which speakers to use.

Sharper image indoor/outdoor wireless speakers and transmitter has no audio.

First, determine if the TV device is putting out sound by plugging in a headphone into the audio out of the TV. If audio is there then the
transmitter and wireless speakers system may be at fault.
You can also plug in a CD player playing a disc into the transmitter to see if that source then transmits the audio.

Your system is designed to interrupt the signal flow once headphones are attached. It can not be changed without internal modifications. There is no control to do this.

Overhead DVD monitor screen dead but sound plays through stereo

If it's a Rosen dvd player the dvd will need to be put in the unit itself & not the unit in the dashboard! The dvd player mounted in the head ligning is a seperate unit from the stereo system fitted in your dashboard!
Sounds to me like you are putting a dvd into the dashboard stereo system which will play any audio through the car speakers...
Put a dvd into the Rosen unit itself & i am sure you will get a picture on the drop down screen! Remember that as far as i know all Rosen dvd players transmit the sound from the dvd to infra red headphones that should be included! Remember to check the batteries if you still can't hear any sound as they run down quick if the headphones are left on!

Hope this helps....

No sound from wireless headphones in a toyota sienna

First thing to do is check to make sure that the batteries are properly charged.

Second, make sure that you have a clear line-of-site to the IR transmitter. Infrared (IR) works the same way that your TVs remote control works - if the signal is blocked, then you will not hear any sound.

Third, make sure that you are in the rear seat of the vehicle when listening to the sound. The IR transmitter only transmits to the rear seat, so you will not hear any sound if you are sitting in the front seats. This is a common problem that i see.

Lastly, make sure that the heapdhones you purchased are compatible with your 2006 2007 2008 2009 or 2010 Toyota Sienna. Remember that some older models require RF headphones, not IR headphones. I checked http://www.audiovideo2go.com for compatibility before I purchased my headphones. They have a useful listing of all the headphones and models of vehicles they are compatible with.

Car DVD player will only play sound through wireless headphones, not through speakers

We have a GMC Envoy which also does not allow us to play the sound from the dvd player through the car's speakers. Although we purchased the vehicle new with the dvd player already installed, it was installed by the dealer, making it after-market. I assume those that were installed in the factory work differently. Maybe this is the case with your's as well. Good luck!!

Wireless Headphone not working with my portable DVD player

Firstly, make sure your DVD have built-in IR wireless module so that your headphone can receive the audio signal from your DVD player.

Second, it should be clear which frequency transmitted from your DVD player. Generally speaking, there are two frequency of IR transmitter. One is 2.3MHz/2.8MHz. another is 3.2MHz/3.87MHz. Only emission frequency same as receiver can receive the audio signal.
