Hi i have a view sonic va1912w lcd monitor but i cant get it to its true resolution that is 1440*900 i get only 1280*1024 plz solve this issue

You probably need to install the drivers for this monitor. Try going here: http://www.viewsonic.com/support/downloads/drivers/?prod_name=VA1912w
and download and install the drivers for your OS (Vista, Windows 7, etc). You may need to then restart your machine, but this should hopefully help with your issues.

What OS are you running? It is not hardware problem, but the driver problem if you are running WIndows 7, it will not know the resolution of this monitor if driver for windows 7 is not installed.

I got lines on my monitor screen.

Viewsonic is known for having lines on their monitors. I used to see their display models do this at the now defunct CompUSA in the 1990s.

http://www.viewsonic.com/support/warranties/

I would check the above site to see if your monitor is still under warranty.
If not, then I think it's not economical to try to fix it and replacement is indicated.

In fact, I searched va1912w on the website at Viewsonic.com and came up with 'sorry, no pages match your search'

This tells me that it may not be a current product.

If it isn't current, it's likely it is not under warranty.

So, I would again say, buy a new monitor to replace this one. I don't think it's fixable economically.
