PCV R44G, won't boot, no fans, won' turn on.

Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

G61-306NR power button doesn't work

Disk Drive works, Memory is good, so any Blinking Lights or Beeps when you hit the power button? Does anything ever post to the lcd screen when you press the power button?

It sounds like either you've got a memory issue or a video card issue. Just because the memory worked in your friend's computer does not mean it will work in yours. Your Slot where the memory goes might be bad.

When you plug in the power cord is there anylights whatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter ofthe power cord?

When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear theDvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for asecond or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, butthe screen is not showing for some reason.

Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with thelaptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issuewhen you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous.

Hi, The red light shows there is power connected to the set. The fact that it won't power up is due to a problem with the power supply circuit in the set. or a problem with the switch circuit or the mains power transformer. My friend karen press the power button, thre is no power... there blinking lights on the back of the computer near the fan power ...

Do you hear the harddrive start up? When you push the power button (or switch on the back) do the lights go out? If you hear fan running and hard drive start up then the computer itself might be on but the monitor isn't. Check the power to the monitor, the connection between monitor and computer to make sure they are all on and connected.

If you don' t hear the fan running then you have other problems. Any blinking lights would indicate something is getting power. I'm assuming the computer was working before the power button was pushed... If the monitor is actually working, you could hook up another monitor to check too then you have other problems but need more info to know what that could be.

would need to know the answer to the above questions as well as if it was working before, what was done, what changed between it working and this problem. Also what age the machine etc.

No power at all. what and how to check

Unplug everything but the motherboard and front panel connections. Remove any cards (even the video card) and ram and see if the system comes up (you should hear error beeps and get lights). Install the ram next and retry if the power is up. At the point where the disappears you have found the bad component/ device. If no power lights with everything disconnected but the processor the power supply is bad or mother board is bad. The switch on the power supply is set for your line voltage correct?
